While I'd like seeing those gender locks removed (so long as it's both of them), at least it's even. There's a set just for women and a set just for men, so everybody gets one or the other. Even though there doesn't seem to be any reason for either gender lock, at least they're not adding to the disparity.
If SE is going to get back to removing gender locks, I want them focusing first on correcting the gender imbalance of having so many female only pieces with no male counterpart. So something like the Thavnairian set that only women can wear would be a better next step. We've been asking for that one for years.
Once the gender disparity is addressed, and every piece of gear in the game either is equippable by both genders or has a counterpart for the other, then it will be time to look at unlocking pairs like the Lightning and Snow sets. But giving everyone equal access to glamour should come first.
