Shortage of Airship Only Mats

Who's bright idea was make certain crafting mats only avalible with Airship, this create a shortage and overprice of certain crafting mats, because airship isn't access to everyone unless u own a FC house, even worst is that there are FC leader out there that uses the airship for their own benefit.

There is not a shortage, or a monopoly on these mats. Everyone has the same ability to get these items as everyone else. You can even run your own FC alone and farm airships for yourself if you are that determined. Stop complaining and play the game. Just because they don't hand you stuff on a silver platter doesn't mean its broken...

Not in an FC? Join one.
Dont want to be in an FC? Make your own by yourself, or buy the mats, because that is how economics work.

That's actually completely false given that there is a severe shortage of houses on the larger servers and there's a lot of awkward hoops to jump through in order to have access to a Free Company airship. Changing the system so that it actually benefits more than just a tiny portion of the community would be rather wonderful. Especially since airship related content was originally pushed as something to be expanded upon over time and has so far met a very lukewarm/negative reception.

Did make a suggestion a while ago of having airship mats being added to diadem as the mats become old as a trade in with spoils. Would help a lot for those that cant do airships or are just unlucky with mats while making diadem a bit more meaningful and also keeping the newest mats extremely rare for a time. Think there was word of a new diadem update with some new spoils sometime 3.5 so would be best if such was added then since it would new currency/token to start with.

Oh Senpai, tell me how to make a solo FC (impossible), buy a house on a full server (impossible) & then build an airship alone (impossible). Two of those need other players.

People do NOT have equal access to this content. Even if you are in a FC there is no guarantee whatsoever that you will be allowed access to the rewards from airships. The only way is to buy them & if you need something slightly more unusual then expect to be paying through the nose.

To be honest, when I can save up to 90% of an items MB cost by leveling a crafter myself, I'm simply having a hard time sympathizing with crafters being hit by overpriced goods. I'm more inclined to call that karmic justice >_>

POSSIBLE. You can have random people help you form it, and then remove them.

buy a house on a full server (impossible)

POSSIBLE. Housing demolition has been re-enabled. Look for free lots. I have a friend who has seen 2 in the past 3 days on Balmung.

build an airship alone (impossible)

POSSIBLE. If you are truly an antisocial you can always invest in some alt accounts to help you do everything solo

People DO have equal access to this content. Nothing is stoping you from finding or creating and FC that will let you use the airships. If you want to play by yourself go play a console game.

To say that everyone doesn't have equal access to these mats is accurate, but to say that everyone should is ludicrous; does a level 1 miner get to mine level 60 nodes locked behind some book? Everything takes a level of effort and in this case it is house hunting, getting people in your workshop, spending money to build airship sets, maintaining FC seals for fuel and mining dark matter for repair. If it isn't for you then that is alright, fishing isn't for everyone either does that mean we should change it to fit everyone? I don't think so, there are plenty of things I'm super "meh no way I'm doing that" and pay for it instead and that's ok because someone else is going to find that thing I hate cool and I'm grateful that they do. That is an economy working as intended, but if you really want to produce these mats yourself don't complain that you want fresh lobster when you won't go in the water.
