    Should Aero I just be used for movement?

    Yar yar button bloat and whatnot but really the question is in the title.

    Aero is a 200 potency dot with no cast, so it's marginally (5%) worse than Stone III. Really, it seems like there's no reason to use it since once you clip one tick it's 175p (17% loss) it's a hassle (because I'm lazy) to maintain without losing damage.

    Because of this, should I just be using Aero as WHM (or AST I guess) to slide around when there is an AoE incoming, and then letting it fall off until I need to shift around again?

    A second use for it is to combo it with your one and only oGCD attack skill - Fluid Aura.

    A third use is to use it to accompany any oGCD usage, PoM, SC, transition off Cleric Stance etc.

    I remember reading somewhere when your spell speed is above a certain value, Aero actually brings more potency compared to Stone III, sorta in a lazy mood to look for it now, just something to consider.

    That's true... I have about 910 SpS on my WHM so it'd be around a 13% increase iirc. That would make Aero worth using even with clipping at 3 seconds (by a couple potency), and about 20 potency more if I clipped it between 1-3.

    Ideally you only use it while you move OR to weave in off GCD's like Fluid Aura and Assize. (For AST while using Cards).
    Also using it befor you switch off Cleric Stance helps.

    The biggest issue for dpsing as WHM is still Mana. If you have issues, consider replacing some Stone 3 with Aero. AST shouldn't have that much issues anymore... In my opinion they got the best Mana Management right now. (Which is caused by the Clestial Opposition Buff and the very limited Manapool SCH have now with BIS).

    /Edit: DreamWeavers point with SS is realy interesting... to bad there is like non existing Healer Theorycrafting.

    The Statweights (from dervy) for WHM atm are:

    DPS ONLY:

    WD: 9.128
    INT: 1.000
    DET: 0.159
    CRT: 0.182
    SS: 0.135
    Acc: Cap it

    Which is still taking with a grain of salt.

    Aero should only be used either when you have to move a lot or when Fluid Aura is up. The later is the only time it's a DPS increase cause you're weaving 350ish (I think) in one GCD. The "good" thing about Aero is that it's your only offensive instant, so it's the only one that lets you swiftly weave Fluid Aura in. Not amazing, but it's something.

    I love it on Scholar, though.

    WHM is often capped by mana rather than time, and in those instances Aero I provides more potency/mp than Stone III: 0,57 vs 0,40 which actually makes Aero I 42,5% more efficient than Stone III. Personally I always keep the 3 dots up as priority and fill in with Stone III as mana allows.

    For straight DPS when you will not run out of MP, weave Aero I with Fluid Aura+Assize for potency gains.

    For reference potency/mp:
    Aero III: 0,52
    Aero II: 0,57
    Aero I: 0,57
    Stone III: 0,40
    Stone II: ~0,38
    Stone I: ~0,40
