That's what you get when you're trying to grow the community with bribes >_>

Getting caught gets you ban and completely negates your chances to win the season reward. Not worth it IMO.

Heh, I remember someone who played on primal with that name. This isn't shocking to me.

I'm beginning to think that Primal is a den of botting & hacking right now. I'm seeing it more & more from "regular" players. At least RMT tells are under control. X3

Because you can't have it both ways. If SE takes a firm stance against third party software then they have to go after dps meter users too. That means ffxivlogs (that advocates the use of tps aginst the Eula would need to be slapped with an injunction and taken down) with a list of potential tps users that would then need to be investigated and banned. They can't be lax in one category and then strong in another. Just like Nintendo, they can't ignore even one instance. Because if it came to a lawsuit and you can prove that SE just targeted you instead of all tps users by referencing ffxivlogs or something the judge is going to side with you. And if they do decide to take that stance that means they have to hire on more people to monitor it. That means more funds. This is why it took so long for the division to deal with its hacker problem. Once a company commits, they have to be all in. So with such a small number of pvpers do you think yoshi could justify this "hard stance" to SE?

And stuff like guildworks app(mostly used for hunting)would also get banned not to mention all other small custom add-ons that are based on same framework as guildworks and DPS meters.

The Hunting software should be banned as it directly injects packets into the data stream. I am very much against it & those bits of s/w that give an unfair advantage. The ToS actually only covers s/w that modifies the official game or data stream so certain DPS meters are perfectly acceptable (theoretically) as they read the information stored in plain text after it "leaves" the data stream & game itself. The main s/w used for DPS actually has an option that clearly tells you this & that enabling it is when you start to break the ToS.

I don't use add ons because the game is too important to me & not worth losing by taking advantage. I have no problem with people using DPS meters only but it's very easy for them to get sucked into using the more nefarious options.

I'm sorry but no. Using a tool to track damage/healing is not the same as using a tool which adjusts the speed at which your character moves. MMOs are all about numbers, and if you don't have a way to track those numbers, there is literally no point to playing the game as you will not be able to play to the best of your ability.

It's still third party. They can't ban some then not ban others for breaching the same rule. Fair or not, cheating or performance monitoring. I'm not against a dps meter, but if it's allowed then it should be placed in game.

There's no ban on third party software, only third party software that modifies the game or the data stream. Otherwise they could say that using Chrome to access information about game play is "using third party software". Not all DPS meters fall J to the banned category.
