Idea: Rebrand Healer Role as Support Role

Call it Support, ensure that new Jobs in the role continue to share the same basic ability to heal parties, then make each unique by way of their playstyle.

- DPS focus? ST? AoE? Melee? Ranged? Mixed?
- Buffs/Metabuffs?
- Debuffs?
- Crowd Control?
- Rotations?

Perhaps then more players will understand the expectation to support the group in ways that go beyond minimum required healing and we can set the stage for a more thematically diverse set of Jobs.

Blue support, red support, and green support. Just modify your numbers slightly if your colors start going a little out of whack! Sounds appropos.

I remember this post, and it was good. I tried to keep my version brief, but yes, it's actually quite a complex issue.

I prefer more clearly defined roles as itcould become very messy if people dont know what they are supposed to do and when . Think with that regard maybe after a while in content only support becomes necessary like scholar, but we are alwys going to have lower level content where we get bored and need to fill in the spaces. Thats The normal progression of the game. The challenges are sufficient for me to play my defined role in new content. I would like for scholar to be like discipline priest in wow though where you dps to heal would solve the cs issue, and maybe afew other problems.
