Btw the current largest XL fish is the Euphotic Pirarucu, ranking in at a high point of 251.8 Im. The smallest XL being the Silver Shark, ranking in at a high point of 82.5 Im.

Figured it would be best to list the high point for the smallest XL considering that the Coelacanth, a Large fish, can be as big as 80.6 Im.

This might help when it comes to guessing the size of your wanted fish. If it's not 82.5+ Im, chances are it would be Large or smaller.

I ... want to put my Magic Bucket in an aquarium.

That, and a medium length (1000+ yalms, which is a little over half as long as they can get) Malm Kelp.

    Sunfish would be nice, too.

Glad to see the Ala Mhigan Fighting Fish listed first! I caught and saved several as soon as I saw the aquarium was being added in 3.4, only for them not to be included in the initial pool of displayable fish. I had a Fighting Fish Tank in FFXI, and hope to replicate it in 3.5!

Oh, and here's a thing I made after the 3.4 patch notes went up.

Coming in to second the desire for an Ala Mhigan fighting fish!

I was really surprised that the fighting fish didn't make the list it seemed like one of the most obvious choices after copperfish. I'm glad that copperfish did though.

it would be funny if they added a way to do the different fishing environments: sand tank, air tank, cloud tank, lava tank, sludge tank

but what we definitely need more of ASAP is a bunch of small and medium fish options.
One big unmoving L or XL fish looks kind of lame in the tanks so if you want a tank that looks alive you have exactly one freshwater and one saltwater setup atm

A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.

Anyone who's done the quest has seen how big the thing actually was. There wouldn't be any water left even in the largest aquarium @@

Bettas would be odd because they'd probably fight everything smaller than a shark in the tank, if you go by what they mooch off of.

Personally, I'd like to see them add more habitats since Eorzea isn't limited to fishing just from water. I'd like a lava-themed tank, a cloud/sky-fishing tank, a sandfishing tank etc.

The challenge with non-water and non-sky based tanks would be... actually being able to see the fish, I imagine. The opacity of other materials seems like it would be a design challenge to work around, outside 'because magic' type reasoning.

Lava would be easy, just red water and lighting instead of blue. Sand, I don't know since half the fish are sandstorm fliers and half are burrowers, it might have to be divided into sand and air which wouldn't fit so neatly into their current system (or just magically very transparent sand)
