    New Battle System

    I got this feeling that the new battle system is going to be turn based.(ATB) Why
    - STORMBLOOD will have an old school feel.
    - Tidus, Yuna, Lulu and Yuna based items.(ffx2)
    - New battle system never been done before.

    Would it work? I think that for at least the main scenario it should be turn based. They tried to give that feel in HW, but it just came out looking awkward. What do you guys think?

    I am also confused. They would never implement a true turn-based system in an MMO, because you could troll people by just not taking your turn. Plus, the current system is the logical extension of ATB. I mean, the GCD is your ATB bar, basically. That's your "turn." Unless you're suggesting they're going to make the global cooldown like 10 times longer. In which case, no thanks.

    They never said there'd be a new battle system.

    They said they were going to refine and simplify the current one, noting that there are a bunch of skills that are rarely used and planned for removal. Chances are, it's to make room for new skills without making rotations overly complex.

    Which you could also do in triple triad - hence, you only have limited time for your turn. Wakfu I think was an MMO that tried around with the concept. It's possible to do, but not very well suited IMO, because you'd be getting bored waiting for anothers turn.

    From what I remember doing the main scenario leveling up. There's a part where you travel with y'shtola some other guy( can't remember) and get attacked by 3 other goblin machine things in the hinterlands. Everything was lined up and it just looked awkward.

    I also think solo instances as well as job quests should also be turn based, but that's just my personal preference.

    I think it's safe to say it is NOT going turn based lol. We are already used to the current system. Changing it just as the expansion hits would be a bad move on their behalf. What if the battle system is a failure? Too many risks tbh.

    Refining and simplifying the current one is a suggestion that they could alter the way we battle. Especially since they're looking at every class and we have a few that already clash with the basic foundation of the trinity system. MCH, BRD, SCH, SMN and even AST clash with the trinity in some capacity. They could very well keep the basic 1-2-3 combo most classes follow but drop the trinity, which would still result in a new system.

    You always gotta be on the move, kinda like TERA.
    Would run away if this game was turn-base...
