So Shinryu Midgardsormr and his seven eggs came from another star in ancient times, and thus not a native lifeform nor a "creation" of the Twelve. Was it the Thirteenth World before it became the Void? Or somewhere beyond the reflections of the Source (kinda like Gilgamesh and Nybeth)? Why won't he talk to me about Eorzea's history?

Did the lore book ever say anything on him and the First Brood? (besides naming the unmet great wyrms Azdaja and Vrtra)

The lore book continues the tradition of wording things just vaguely enough that you can tell Midgardsormr isn't "from here".

I doubt they'd have carefully laid that hint twice without the intention to explain it ... someday ...

Both the translation and the raw Dravanian audio from Tiamat say that Midgardsormr "arrived" here from a "time before time". I assume that means he came with the division of the Source, if not earlier, somehow. If I had to guess, he created his seven eggs and nurtured them on Hydaelyn so that they could integrate with Her Lifestream, and thus have "native" children of their own. But literally all of that is pure speculation. I think?

What does the Lore book say on Middy's pact with Hydaelyn?

I understood it that he and his brood could reside upon the planet as long as Midgardsormr protected Silvertear and flow of aether there, only he kind of dies, and then cuts us off from Hydaelyn's Blessing and follows us around to judge us worthy.... So was being our direct overseer part of the pact?

This probably belongs more in the Crack Theories thread then here but it's always been my personal crack theory that Midgardsormr's the same species as Lavos of Chrono Trigger and Jenova of FF7; all giant space fleas from nowhere with godlike powers and adaptive Lamarckian biology that need to siphon life-force off of a planet in order to reproduce. Middy's just somehow fallen into a much more symbiotic relationship with his host planet than SE's other uses of this in-house archetype.
