Season 3 Matchmaking Failure

I don't think this PvP community really wants to grow however. Consider, the player pool it can draw from are only the people who enjoyed the base game up to 60 and the majority of them are not very skilled, don't really like competition, don't like angry people either and only play casually. These are the people you would need to cater to to grow the playerbase - and that's already assuming people enjoy the burst meta gameplay. Good luck trying to make that compatible with the demands of the more hardcore PvP playerbase - it's pretty much the polar opposite.

The PVP Community does want to grow, and it is. There are now hundreds of people in the PVP discord, and probably a hundred or more speak in it every day. Balmung has become the premier PVP server on Aether, housing just about all of the best players this game has seen. We are actively spreading information by making guides, and streaming our climbing of the ladder.

Notice how I never said "we are the best". I simply stated that we house "some of the best." I'm not sure why you interpreted that the way you did. That said, Balmung does have the largest and most active PVP community of any server of any data center. If you really want to contest that, I'd have to call you foolish.

As far as I'm aware, the following excerpt from the Season 2 Feast patch notes (3.35) still applies to this season, and explains all the problems the OP has with matchmaking

"Matching algorithms have been adjusted to ensure players are matched with others of the same or an adjacent tier.
The Feast will now prioritize matching those who fall anywhere between No Rank and Silver tier with other players that are in these three tiers.
The Feast will now prioritize matching those who fall anywhere between Gold and Diamond tier with other players that are in these three tiers.
The longer you wait, the higher your chances are of being matched to a player in an adjacent tier.

The degree to which PvP ratings may decrease at the conclusion of a rated match has been adjusted."

I guess SE's insurance is the first line doesn't state 'ONLY' others of same adjacent tier. So if you're silver and there's only 1 bronze player in the match, SE has fulfilled their promise?
Although if anyone has a screenshot of 1 silver and 7 un-rankeds please post it too. This is just speculation

Literally cannot call anyone the best anything in the game until all players in the game are on the same DC. I get what you're doing, trying to talk up Balmung and Aether, but it's just an invalid statement on every level. I mean Ava is a perfect example. He had a 53% WR S1/S2 on Primal, moves to Aether and magically has a 78% win rate at rank 2? How can you explain that? I guess he miraculously got better in the 1 day between S2/S3.

He's just getting carried by bronze players, ok? Primal has no good melee dps, of course all of the healers are dumpster tier.

I don't know Ava personally, but I know that they are a really good WHM. I'm a healer and whenever I am up against them, they always time their CCs on me perfectly to prevent me from healing any form of bursts. Maybe I'm just bad, but I don't think it's right to accuse Ava of whatever you are accusing them of.
