It feels exactly the same as 1-50... which makes sense, because that's what it is, just with a different coat of paint.
It's not the worst thing they've ever added, but it doesn't hold my interest for long either.

You know after some thinking the 0 K.O would be fine but only if the DC's don't count..I am not really sure whats up with the servers but I randomly disconnected four times yesterday..once in a floor 20+ solo run...since you are directly kicked out of the palace it will count as a k.o..which means that if you get kicked from the game on floor 99 in a solo run you will have a nice little k.o in your save data and have to start again. Its already annoying if you die to monsters but having to start again from 51 because of the server or maybe your own connection (so out of your hand) makes this truly frustrating...
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Does a death actually affect the solo run achievement? Somewhere on Reddit I read that it doesn't.You know after some thinking the 0 K.O would be fine but only if the DC's don't count..I am not really sure whats up with the servers but I randomly disconnected four times yesterday..once in a floor 20+ solo run...since you are directly kicked out of the palace it will count as a k.o..which means that if you get kicked from the game on floor 99 in a solo run you will have a nice little k.o in your save data and have to start again. Its already annoying if you die to monsters but having to start again from 51 because of the server or maybe your own connection (so out of your hand) makes this truly frustrating...

It's not supposed to, judging by the wording of it, but it does. The 1-50 achievement will not pop until you get a score on a floor after 50, and similarly the one for clearing to 100 won't until you get a score on 101 or later.
A friend suggested contacting support in game about it if it happens to have them force it to trigger, but my experience with that has been essentially "Well maybe you should talk to Jonathas for your title?" and then "Sorry to hear that, not helping. Go file a bug report." when repeating that the complaint wasn't about the title but the achievements themselves not happening properly.
If you die and have the new pomander that rez you, it does not count as a k.o. But if you get kicked out of the palace thanks to a dc it will count as a k.o which is really bad since often its not even thanks to something of your own internet but just some instability of the server. If you do it solo it often means that you grind it out for the whole time in the lower floors to get a good level for the difficult floors so a dc can mean hours of work gone.
It might not count for the achievement but you need 0 k.o as solo too to be able to get beyond 101+.

Exactly, this is the thing that bothers me the most, the single d/c just kills your run, regardless of duration or type. the servers won't save your instance so you are straight up boned if anything causes an interruption. If this didn't happen, it would make solo more fun. But having to be afraid that if something causes a hiccup you lose everything just kills the fun to be had playing solo. When it comes to 100+ you pretty much need every minute anyway, so it wouldn't hurt to just at least let the person attempt to salvage a run they d/c from. You might lose 5 mins from a d/c or less but it's possible to rush and complete a run in that time. It just seems a bit misguided to end a run automatically from a d/c.You know after some thinking the 0 K.O would be fine but only if the DC's don't count..I am not really sure whats up with the servers but I randomly disconnected four times yesterday..once in a floor 20+ solo run...since you are directly kicked out of the palace it will count as a k.o..which means that if you get kicked from the game on floor 99 in a solo run you will have a nice little k.o in your save data and have to start again. Its already annoying if you die to monsters but having to start again from 51 because of the server or maybe your own connection (so out of your hand) makes this truly frustrating...
Pft, geez and if anyone is doing POTD now, don't. This should really be on the news feed, but not so much as a warning in-game.

Not sure if this has caused my connection to be unstable just around an hour ago but.

I'd definitely hold off progressing in POTD on a 0 KO run if you are on an NA data canter.

Not quiet about the new floors, but the general update to the 8bit menus. More specifically about the character/item menu that now "greys out" when using a pom. Very VERY annoying! Having to click the window again just to dismiss it... why did we need this "fix" again? Wasn't it good enough before?
I have that window disabled and only use it when I want to use a pom. So having this thing still on screen but inactive so I have to click all the way through (PS4) to activate it just so I can close it is... awful. Was fine before imo. Want it on your screen always? Click the lock button. Don't want it? Close it. Please revert this :/
It's even worse than the previous ones silver chest will explode 90% if 2 people stand in front of it, bomb or enemy spawn traps everywhere it's not fun anymore. I might give it try sometime later but right now I'm not going to bother with it anymore.

All RNG there. You're as likely to end up like that as not. Having been running the stuff probably a little excessively I feel I can safely say it's not much different. The only time such things are bad is when people are.
If you see someone going for a chest, break off and let them at it. If you're in combat keep movement to a minimum and don't open chests. Call out Mimics and Luring traps as they come if people aren't seeing them, especially with Manticores as they're more likely looking for the next room than standing about waiting to see what happens every chest. The more people get these details memorized the sooner chaotic messes fade away.
That said I can give you one reason why it would seem like there are more traps now than before, with two additional Pomanders to get the odds of getting Safety and Sight go down so trap exposure goes up.
It's the same mob-killing grind fest again but looks better I guess. Doing it solo is more time-consuming than it is challenging still.
Hopefully the next Deep Dungeon has something much more unique in it than just being another PotD with the only objectives are to find chests to hope for upgrades, finding the portal and kill a few mobs in the way to activate it.
