    Dear SE,

I couldn't play legacy because my computer wasn't good enough. I don't have a legacy chocobo in my collection. Please add a way for non-legacy players to get the legacy chocobo. It is not fair that a very specific group of players got this mount, and I would really like my chance to get it. Please add all the event items to the cash shop too! This would make collecting so much more fun, I can just take out my mom's credit card and be at 100% =^,^=. Please don't make me learn how to play the game or do any hard work to get any of these very nice mounts and minions!

    Yours truly,
    A concerned Millennial

Interesting that you should mention hard work in the same paragraph as a collectable that is no longer possible to get no matter how hard you work.

Kinda takes the wind out of your attempted mockery! Oh, well, they can't all be winners.

Speaking of wind........ Whoooooooooossssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. So much salt didn't even see the subject change.

For people who are saying things like, "If we start this season we will have no chance!". I started halfway through last season with minimal PvP experience (random FL games) and got 12th on the rankings. At 1300 rating I picked up whm (never played it outside of leveling), dropped to 700, and still made it all back up. If I didn't get totally consumed by work for the last 2 months of the season, I could have been top 10. Oh well, guess this is the way the world works now.

Before server/latency fixes i could agree with this but after that got fixed there are really no issues in PvP anymore, only problem is the players themself when it comes to "pvp sucks in ffxiv" as 80% of them SIMPLY DONT KNOW HOW TO PLAY THESE MODES PROPERLY. This is sadly the cold truth but it is the players that ruins pvp most of the time(SE has made some screwups aswell when it comes to pvp)not the mode or gameplay itself.

Feast was riddled with cheaters/afk'ers/leechers and both FL modes have now become pure TDM modes where everyone is just fragging in mid... just to give some examples why i dont really enjoy PvP that much anymore :s

The thread was in the "Items, Synthesis, and Gathering", as they don't use "General Discussion" as a dump for every thread that already has a proper section, their mods actually move any thread from General Discussion if there's a section for it.

While it's true that most people use 2ch over the JP forum, reading other older threads in different sections gave me the impression that JP players don't oppose things out of spite, unlike the EN forum, this was specially apparent in a quite long thread about the level boost potion, here the main argument was "OMG THIS WILL TURN THIS GAME INTO WOW / IF I HAD TO SUFFER EVERYONE ELSE MUST SUFFER AS WELL" while over there from the get-go people were weighing the pros and cons and how to deal with the cons.

I hate to become one of those people who put the JP in a pedestal, but it's pretty obvious why the devs listen to them more than what they listen to us, take a look at any thread here and you will find people opposing things just for the sake of arguing even if it doesn't affect them negatively, or just out of spite.

Agreed with the disagree. PvP in XI, for example, was stupidly fun while frustrating as all hell. **** YOU BARDS!... unless I played one for the match, then go me! Here, I had as much fun as I did on WoW's PvP... which is a good amount.

Haven't been able to find the quote, but I'm fairly certain they said the gaelicap is joining the rewards offered from the lodestone contests.

Also while I don’t think the Gaelicap should exist if it’s limited to only fanfest (and I don’t think it will be), please keep in mind that there is a world of a difference between “limited in some way” and “limited in the same way as the Feast mount”. Up until now, all exclusive rewards have fallen into one of the following categories:
    • Rewards locked behind some sort of skill/time check. See: Raid/trial mounts, old pvp mounts, etc. While most people can't meet the skill/time requirements to obtain these right away, they are not limited in availability nor tied to a time window, so everyone has the option to wait for content to be nerfed or to slowly work towards them.

    • Rewards available for a limited time. See: yokais, CE minions, legacy mount, etc. Up until now, obtaining this type of rewards has taken no skill whatsoever and they are not limited in availability. As long as you're actively playing the game while the rewards are being offered, you are able to get them.

    • Rewards limited in availability. See: ahriman chokers, bluebird earrings, contest barding, etc. While these are only given to a limited number of players, they aren't tied to a time window. The contests happen many times every year and the rewards so far have remained the same (with new ones slowly being added), and as such you have multiple chances to go after them.
The way I see it, people (myself included) are bothered by the Feast mount/minion because it combines all three categories when no other reward has ever done so. It's locked behind a skill check, only available for a limited time, and only rewarded to a very limited number of players. There is not a single reward in this game (certainly not a mount/minion) as exclusive as this one. Even looking back at the White Raven earrings, they still aren't as exclusive as the Feast rewards because there was not a limited number of them. Even things like first-print OST minions only fall under two categories (limited time & availability), but not all three (no skill/time check).

If everyone who won x number of matches during the third Feast season was awarded the rewards, if there was a non-seasonal way to obtain them later down the road (Wolf Marks), or if the rewards were the same every season, then fewer people would be against it. Any of those options would be much more in line with the way the game has done exclusivity until now.

Lastly and just to reiterate, like I said in my previous post, I'm not against exclusivity. If it were up to me, raid mounts would see their droprates reduced to 50% during the 24man patch and then to 1% with the release of the next raid (if not outright removed). Trial mounts would never see their droprates increased, and so on. In a game where these things are done, rewards like the Feast ones would not be out of place.

However, this is simply not the game we're playing. As it stands, the Feast mount and minion have no place in XIV, so I only ask for consistency - for Square-Enix to keep it more in line with the design they have been pushing for the past years. Alternatively, they could give us an indication that they’re going to do many more things like this in the future (especially in PVE), that’d be fine with me too.

Well, in fairness that's mainly because the devs are japanese.

While it's not wrong to think devs check the forums from time to time, that's not their job, they have their own job to do, they have community managers for this and so do we, community managers gather player requests and feedback and deliver them to the devs, the difference being that our feedback has to be translated and there's always a risk of something being lost in translation.

Also a funny thought, many JP think SE only listens to the EN playerbase, while we think they only listen to the JP playerbase.
