One thing i need clarification on, regarding PoTD. Might be a bit dumb but the wording confuses me.

It says "enhance the strength of your Padjali weapon"

Since i returned for 3.4, i never got a padjali weapon i figured i'd get to 30/30 then wait till the Kinna weapons were released.

Now does it mean i need a padjali weapon then +60 to get a Kinna, or can i work to +60 immediatly and get a Kinna weapon without needing to ever get the Padjali variant?

Sounds to me like you need +30/+30 as the potd weapon itself, and one already exchanged one (the ugly glowing none texture ones we got prior), to be able to exchange than your new +60/+60 to one of the ilvl 255 weapons at the end. Might be wrong but it sure looks more and more like that and knowing SE it's their new content, so they wanna push it a bit and make people run it more than once lol.

Are achievements retroactive?

If I've already cleared an achievement in the past, before the achievement was added to the game, will I automatically receive the achievement when I log in?

I am asking because I've already cleared floors 1-50 solo.

Might get the achievement however if you are planning on getting a place on the ranking system, you will have to redo these floors since that system wasn't available prior.

You'll need to convert your 30/30 to the actual equipable item and then get back up to 60/60 by the sound of it, given that it says Padjali and not simply aetherpool.

that's what it sounds like and it sounds stupid. i have 2 padjal weapons. both are non main jobs though and one is already replaced by a sophia weapon. now unless i can trade a padjal to any other weapon in the upgrade process, the old padjal weapon is useless to me. on top of that if i want to get a weapon for a different job I have to start from the very beginning, get the padjal and then upgrade it. that means i need 90/90 for a new weapon...
and a friend is already sitting at 30/30 and is half way done when servers go up. great for him...

Edit: some kinna weapons don't even have the same sub stats as the padjal one

Im glad i preemptively picked few POTD weapons in case this would happen. (which makes sense when you think about it )

(From the patch notes: ) "After clearing floor 100 of the Palace of the Dead and increasing the strength of your aetherpool arm and armor to +60, speak with the NPC E-Una-Kotor to enhance your weapon. Please note that in doing so, the strength of your aetherpool arm and armor will be reduced by 60."

To me this just sounds like get +60/+60 and have cleared floor 100 to get the kinna. Although I can see where it mentions "enhancing a weapon", so may require both. Won't matter to me cause I'm 30/30 @ floor 50 both saves and have the weapons as well. I'd still hope they don't require the padjali weapon as well that seems a bit odd.

Probably! I might as well keep boosting the aetherpool arm, i assume floor 101+ will easily end up requiring up to +80 aetherpool arm/armor. I might as well get it to +99, spend on a padjali weapon to drop it to +69 then get the Kinna version once i'm ready.

On the bright side it's now -30 to make Padjali, and we don't know the rate of gains on 51-100 so you may still be capable of getting a useful weapon at the same time as anyone else. Even if your friend could hit 60 by something like floor 71 or whatever they can't make the Kinna weapon until they've actually cleared 100 at which point maybe everyone will be at around 90 with the cap being set at 99.

Not sure how I feel about 101-200 being fixed party only. Just because it's like.. you either have to find others willing to grind it out with you from floor 1/51, all the way to 200 (and hope there aren't any screw ups since Party KO needs to be at 0), or wait for FC/LS friends to come on and do it with them. I really just want to jump right into it too! D: Since I already have a save file to floor 50, and have been sitting at 30/30 for at least a month now.

Got the client updated and patch downloaded though. Now to just wait.
(And stalk the Mogstation because...Korean outfit!!!! <3)
