    Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.

    The abilities would either be so overpowered entire strategies will revolve around them, or underpowered they will never be used due to their long cooldowns. The game is already turning too much into XI, I would rather it not copy it more.

You didn't need that expensive piece of equipment on the AH to do your job effectively, but if you didn't have it your chances of being invited went down significantly.

    I hope they do add 2 hr abilites like in ff11, they were enjoyable and handy to have alot of times and tbh our jobs need some "umph"

    The changes they are going to implement with weapon skills are simply like the skill chains we had in 11nothing more, which is great tbh, IF we are freed from the "movement lock" we have now when any ability or ws is initiated.

    these new combos will indeed require free movement to pull em off, so please se, get rid of the 3-4 second movement lock restriction as it is now -.- i enjoyed sc in 11, it was handy and some good damage and useful debuffs to mobs could be achieved by them but we could move about 100x easier in 11 during combat.

    if in the future they add true 2 hr abilities it can only be an asset. loved them in 11 and would love them here.
    certain classes are always gonna be better for certain fights, not one game in existance has "balance" just right ...to say any does is delusional. but hopefully the new team sees to it that all classes have a potent and useful 2 hr . if they could pull that off i say bring it on!!

    A "literary critique" seldom involved offering suggestions to authors of what they should have written about instead. That's not what criticism is about.

    A critic of FFXIV doesn't have to become a game designer to point out something they don't like, in the same way you don't have to be a musician to criticize a song you don't like. But if you want to do a good job of criticizing, you don't offer alternatives, you offer reasons. If someone doesn't want to have a 2 hour ability ripped straight out of FFXI, you'd list why:
    • it's been done before (in FFXI), and it would be nice to have a new way of doing things in a new game (in FFXIV)
    • it makes the 2 hour a vital ability that can ruin a planned gaming night if it's used accidentally or prematurely, thus locking people out of a winning game strategy because of an excessive timer
    • success in a tough battle of skill shouldn't have the option for an "I win button" style ability to circumvent it

    I don't have to offer any alternatives to the 2 hour (I can, but it's perfectly optional). I just have to state why it doesn't work (or even why it does work if I felt the opposite way instead). That's criticism.

    Yeah, it'll be implemented after 2.0.

    To initiate Turbo-charged job abilities (TM) you must jump to the left, bring it back now yo, 1 hop this time. Cha cha real smooth.

    Because the 2 skills refilled most of your mp and to this time there was no mp recovery while standing still ^^
    You had the choice to use the skill or run back to the next aetherit to refill your mp

    We don't have much information yet on the new skills of jobs following the revamp just annonced but some of the skills seem really powerfull, so powerfull that maybe each job does have a kinda 2hours abilities no ?

    what do you think ?
