2-hour abilities are a good idea, who cares if FFXI had them or not. They are great for OH Sh!t situations and can really save your life.
Though I would say limit them to Jobs and not classes since jobs are specialized in 1 thing so a 2-hour (or power ability) would fit into them nicely.
I'd love to have them back. They added a layer of strategy to the game.2-hour abilities are a good idea, who cares if FFXI had them or not. They are great for OH Sh!t situations and can really save your life.

They really don't. If it gets implemented the way FFXI does, stuff like chainspell stuns will become common strategy, hard encounters will base revolving around the abilities, and people will not gets invites to contents if the ability is on cooldown, sort of like how sentinel become requirements these days for Ifrit fight.
Although i am not fond of the idea, I am not totally against it because i have belief in Yoshi-P to find a fine middleground.

With the exception of primals i dont want this.
They totally unbalance the game so having an actual two hour cooldown period for them would be excessive. If they want to actually provide challenging encounters they need to take into account that we will make use of these abilities too. That said if they balance the fights in a way that you need to use these abilities to win, that would be extremely crippling. Two hours cooldown between each encounter? Talk about punishing.
Once per fight sounds more reasonable, depending on how it works in practice.
Yes those are awesome. Do want! Biebs' comment makes no sense, I never encountered that phenomenon he's talking about in XI ever.
Being harder than one of the easiest games ever made means nothing.
I bet Ifrit is harder than anything XI ever tossed as you as well. The only difference is that in this game, you actually get to try again in a short timeframe and don't need to wait hours/days/weeks to retry.
