Each level increases their stat totals by 2 points. The training changes baseline stats independent of the stats of your recruits. if you can find a combination that puts you 40 points below in one stat, while keeping you at least 20 points above in the others, that can be resolved with a single training session. Just try to put some effort into understanding the system, and it isn't that hard.

Maybe you have the wrong combinations of Squadron members. Yes, the levelling missions at 20 & 40 ALWAYS require all three stats to be at, or above, those listed. The other missions are more variable although I have had a few fail even when it said "bound to succeed".

You just need to keep adjusting your squad & the three stats until you get it right, this is NOT like the PvE open world where a lvl12 character will beat a lvl20 one, this is far more complex & a lvl30 may not be able to beat a lvl20!

I've enjoyed it immensely & it's definitely set the way it is to prepare for future expansion where you have to be more cunning to succeed. It's a cerebral, not physical challenge.

I have found that sometimes using the intense workout (or whatever it is called) helps as well.
I was finally able to send out my squad for the level 40 mission last night, i really hope it does not come back as a fail... I will be so mad, lol

In order to pass the 40 lvl mission you need to go above the cap in stats. I used marauder, conjurer, rogue and mby archer and i used the ~90 higher tactic in physical and mental training which took me to meet the requirements. Just get a calculator and you'll figure it easily.

I had to be about 6 lvls past the mission to guarantee. Give it time, it's worth it. With the right chemistry and mission affinity i git 1500 blue gatherer scrips from one 18 hr mission.

    It's all about the chemistries.

I have around 3 members (CNJ, MRD, ARCH) which trigger their chemistries by themselves and have +10%/+20% on their "mainstat" (e.g. MRD + 20% physical attribute).

This group (+ one other fitting member + training) beats a lvl. 40 mission once a week. With that group I'm 10-30 points above each stat cap usually.
The other 5 (with chemistries to give DoH materia, Scripts, other stuff) do the other missions troughout the week.

I don't have any Chemistries sadly with my current Recruits, but I got my 8th recruit which filled up my roster and was another MNK but the stats on them were amazing so I hired them!

After leveling them up a couple of times I finally got all 3 stats hit and sent them out! Hopefully today I'll see them complete it, but the stats on my initial first 4 have very... low stats in one or two areas and one really good one and seemed very unbalance.

I'll keep an eye on them, but I would've preferred training some of the recruits one-on-one instead of all of them at once but make it take longer. Well I'll get through this one way or another... I still dislike how this is setup. Too much RNG involved when getting new Recruits especially when you need to complete Challenge Logs and don't want to give you new Recruits to get.

The level 40 one can in some cases be done on level, but only if you have a good chemistry bonus or two helping you meet the stats. If not, then you have to over-level it.

I did it with a physical heavy team of GLD, MRD, LNC, and another DPS (I forget which, either ARC or ACN). And my LNC and GLD both had chemistry bonuses boosting their Physical stat. With all that Phys on the individual members, I was able to move all the squad-wide bonus points into the other two stats and meet all three stat requirements.

(That would actually have worked on-level and with only one of those two Phys chemistry bonuses, but only if I could have gotten my squad-wide bonus points shifted to 20/140/120 in time. As it happened, I got the second Phys +15% bonus on my GLD the next day, and was able to do it with 0/160/120, which didn't need as many training sessions to reach. By the time I'd done that other mission that earned the extra chem bonus and did a few training sessions to reach 0/160/120, my squad was level 41, so only very slightly over-leveled.)

There are only two rank up missions.
For the lvl 40, I was 1 point under the requirement in 1 stat, and still had the "no chance of success" message, and did indeed fail. I levelled that team until someone got an extra point in the requisite stat, then the message changed to "bound to succeed".

You should read what is being discussed, before commenting how what other people have said is untrue.

    Only took me a few days although I was stuck in that lvl 40 quest also. I got a MNK to join my team and changed the stats and now everyone is level 50 and I completed all missions the MNK really did help that much ;_;
