PvP opinions from a PvPer

As someone who loves pvp and loves final fantasy the whole franchise, I would like to give idea's on how you can make a fun addition to the game and not forced or feel forced upon people who don't enjoy pvp.

1. If world pvp is going to be added, please make a couple new servers/realms and do not convert any of the existing into pvp.

2. Lets keep "pvp gear" out of the game please, farming pvp sets is probably the most pointless thing any game can create. Not only that it causes a lot of drama when PvP gear is being used in PvE! We would prefer you to spend the money on something productive than making junk gear who most of the people will junk in days if its tier sets. It also takes away from being unique! We don't want to look and have the same stats as the other Gladiator next to us! Not only that but it gives the PvE community players a chance to actually compete and stand a chance. Trust me if you create pvp sets someone who has top PvE gear will not stand a chance against people fully geared in pvp gear that are skilled. Having PvP/PvE gear makes it too easy for hardcore PvPers to identify the players and will focus target anyone in PvE gear! The greatest thing I personally enjoyed in FFXI is killing end game to get better gear and compete (own it up :P) in ballista. Gave me the chance to enjoy and experience the whole game as well!

3. Please skill > gear! In FFXI it didn't matter if you had a relic, if you sucked you sucked and that's what I loved about it! The balance of FFXI was amazing, yes some classes/jobs had temporary advantages but they never lasted long.

4. Rewards extremely hard to obtain. Weather it be a tunic or a weapon (most preferably a weapon) the hardcore PvP community, like the hardcore PvE community, like things that set them some what apart from the crowd with items that show how they worked hard for something. As an example: Archer PvE Relic 100dmg 50agi. PvP Relic 95dmg 50eva. or 95-100dmg (plus 50agi to players only or in player vs player environments)


I'm going to close with saying again that PLEASE DON'T FORCE THIS ON PVE'ERS!!! We don't take pride in killing someone who isn't interested or trying. Save yourselves the QQ's! Thanks for your time, feel free to leave your comments and opinions.

I agree with everything beside first one the issue with that is i lost a lot of friends due to them wanting to go to PVP worlds and i want to be in PVE.

I really doubt they will add world PvP unless they are really trying to lure in the PvP community. If it did happen they will have to change too much about the game. Like if your from town A will you still be able to go to town B/C? If your fighting for an area why will the opposite city welcome you etc. This is why I don't believe it'll happen and to be honest I don't want it to happen. World PvP is more for extra fun when your leveling, like hey look someone here questing too around my level! Hmm should I fight him/her? At capped level most PvPers focus on their own thing just like PvEers.

I'm all for fairness and if any type of forced world pvp is involved I think it should be areas where you get flagged and have timed events like ballista did, but most important not required to go through! Only reason you take that road is because you want to PvP or explore that area. I believe that it also adds some excitement exploring an area that's dangerous, not only because of PvE mobs but because others players lurking around the corner!

There will be a lot of changing for PVP; like:
+ Class vs Class - only class's skill are useable
+ Same class VS - only class's skill are useable
+ Free For All. - everything goes
+ Group VS - everything goes.
I think the last 3 of your ideas are good; i would like to add some point. Reward for winning and penalty for losing and if a player 6 level higher than their opponent; they wont get reward for winning; however if they lose; they penalty will be higher than normal; and the reward for defeating a high level will higher. An interesting could be added is 1 vs many.

They wont be any pvp servers like someone said because pvp in ffxiv is just a sport game no like WoW where one side hate eachother and there in war even in ffxi it was not like that. Top of that they not going to allow open dual or PK so there no point in it.

People don't hate on pvp haters they just hate the idea to be force to do it and in ffxiv there no issue with that so don't matter.

would be nice. I guess since the GD post above shot down my request, i can just hope and pray i get on server with lots of other pvpers. Maybe ill get lucky, get on A fenfir like realm. Where the pvp doesn't die, and people actually do it with out nagging me for shouting in town to get enough people to do it.
