Anima weapon takes a lot more time and is much more boring.

This is why I wanted to see IL 265.
At just 260, I might abandon getting AW and just get Shire weapon instead. It depends on the next AW quests.
I was hoping for something better than Shire weapon, because Shire weapon is very easy to get. By comparison, AW at 260 is much harder to get (because you need to do ALL of the AW quests before it.)
Boring yes, but compare the effort level. Even back in the horror days of 210, you basically did ARR Beast Tribes you were massively overleveled for or Gordias normal... which you were also overgeared for. The 230 Step? Do Crystal Tower once a week for five weeks or farm esos. All of that is mindless and requires neither skill nor teamwork. Savage, on the other hand, demands you perform to the very best. People who do, are rewarded for it.

Ok, lets compare the effort level. Which is nowhere near the same thing as the skill level or the commitment level (which I'd argue is greater on the Relic's side of things).

Relic : guy starts off by grinding FATEs, then running ten dungeons, then a GC Seal/ARR Beast Tribe grind, followed by tomestones and then more tomestones/Leves.

    VS

Guy walks into a11s and walks out with the stuff for an i260 weapon. Then walks into a12s and walks out with the stuff for an i270 weapon, or an i275 weapon.

Granted, the a11s and a12s require more skill, but I'd say that the greater effort is required by the person starting their HW Relic. And that's not even considering how much effort is needed to go from i240 to i260 relic.

We attribute different values to effort then. The 210 step may have taken me forever, but it required no skill or effort beyond 30ish minutes a day for two months. I waste more time watching Youtube. Frankly, I'd say we're arguing semantics at this point. A11S/A12S are significantly harder content. And while you may finish either faster, they won't ever be a mindless chore. Hence why their rewards are better. Granted, I think you could make a case about the Shire weapon, but the Anima will likely go to 270 when 3.5 drops.

Mindless chores still require effort to accomplish, otherwise, they'd never get done. And while to some extent you can increase the effort level to get a task done faster, generally speaking, the longer a task takes to finish, the more effort was involved in finishing it. An ounce of effort a day over twenty days is more effort than a pound of effort for one day only. Both the relic and the savage grinds take longer than that; yet the principle is the same. Relics take a lot more effort over time than a savage weapon.

Which cannot be done without also comparing the innate endowment of people. Alex Savage requires significantly more effort to be cleared by people with a lower attention span or people with slower reaction times. A person who only has one hand needs to put in significantly more effort than someone with two. A person with frail bones and weak muscles will have to put in more effort to lift the same a healthy person can without putting in any additional effort.

This is why some people consider something "faceroll" while others find it "mind numbingly hard". In that, you are both technically right - for the slow and dumb, Savage will require far, far more effort than the relic. For the talented, the relic will require more effort.
