Wish I could help, but even though I play on PC, I do so using the Cross UI with a DS4 controller![]()
Personally I keep my skills a bit more grouped but whatever works for you, I see some crazy configs that make my head spin but if it works for them. Do need to eventually clean up my keys so they line up but to lazy at the moment. Just an idea but may give an idea for something that may work. I also however have a mouse with cntrl mapped to a side button and alt to the bottom side button to allow this setup with no major issues.
*Thunder2/Thunder 3 are macro'd so that it will always try to cast Thunder 3 unless its not available due to level sync, in that case it uses Thunder 2.
I don't think borrowing someone else's configuration will help, at least never for me. There's too many variables like are you willing to use macros and to what degree, keyboard/mouse/controller keys, etc. It's mostly what's most comfortable to you.
I personally wish we could just take each individual hot key block and arrange them separately instead of as a full bar. I need visual separation between sets of keys so I can more easily tell at a glance what skills i should or can press and the corresponding keys instead of seeing three rows of colorful buttons that all blend together in my peripheral vision.
kay kay thx for your replies !!!<3
I use controller, but I recommend keeping all your main attacks and timer buffs
Eek phone hiccup.
Keep you main skills and buff times front and center to make it as simple as possible to keep them up and ready.
How mine looks like.
The only keys I actually press are 1-5, alt 1-3, q, e, f, c, v, and `. I click everything else. I've been a "clicker" for almost 10 years so I'm perfectly comfortable with this playstyle. The only macro I use on blm is to use aetherial manipulation to my mouseover target.
Nobody can tell you how you should arrange your HUD but you can always look around and see what you want to incorporate. Consider your needs and work from there.
I don't want to contort my left hand too much to hit certain key combinations, but I also don't want to move my right hand away from my mouse, so that's how my configuration came to be. I also used to have my hp/mp/tp bar at the top left corner but later decided it would be more beneficial to keep it closer to where my eyes are focused in a fight (middle of the screen)
Well, I play on ps4 with the cross bar, but... What I do is keep all fire related attacks, all my offensive buffs, and t2 on my main hot bar. On my sub I have all ice spells, t3, my support like Virus and Lethargy, and an Ether. That way, once I finish a phase, I just click and I'm immediately on the hot bar for my next pertinent phase.
Wait till you get to 60. Everything changes for blm at 60. Then work on your set up.
