May I Attribute Strength On Gladiator For Sword Oath?

Ok may be wrong, but everywhere I have read STR and VIT give the same amount of damage increase 0.45 AP. So I would of thought if you don't need the VIT/Parry/ACC then a STR piece with DET and CRIT would be better.

Damage wise yes, but the HP you'd lose would be quite substantial,, and as our gear gets stronger and stronger, the amount of HP you'd be missing out on will only get larger to the point where it's a huge detriment to not have it.

Plus there's enough variety in Vit accessories that it's perfectly possible to avoid parry.

Can you not make up for that by melding VIT onto the accessory? BTW I am still a fairly new tank too haven't really got into melds I am just going by what I have seen so far/heard on forums etc.

You can only meld VIT (or any other primary stat) into guaranteed slots. So you'd only be able to meld one VIT V.

Something I'm curious about with the whole vit+str thing from tanks. Does this mean one could and should meld STR onto their VIT accessories, as it'd likely contribute more than secondary stats? Also, do they get even MORE of a benefit from food than other classes?

no the damage is not same.
VIT gear always beat STR gear.
you will get around 10% more dps with VIT gear.
also VIT gear has more stats points than STR gear and you can only meld max. +15 STR/VIT to the gear.
so use always VIT gear and meld STR.
you also use VIT potions instant of STR one.
it has been change with Alex midas, so STR does less damage than VIT for tanks now.

Yes to both of those questions.

No you won't. They literally made them the same attack power, it's just VIT also gives HP so there's no reason to get STR if VIT is available.

And while yes, VIT is higher than STR in gear, point for point they contribute the same amount.

Also VIT pots (at least when Draconian were best) were easier to make than STR pots anyway.

That's not optimal because you're trading a significant amount of hp for a small amount of crit and det. Str accessories on a tank regardless of the secondary stats is bad.

It is indeed the same, but the point is not to take str over vit because vit adds to hp, which adds to survivability and let's your healers dps more.
