Have nothing to do with PS3 limitation.

Say you have 2 possible targets. one with crit resistance 150 and one with crit resistance 300.
Will you really check your tool tip for every target to see how good your crit chance is? Not to speak about the extra traffic which just to target something will create. Except maybe if every enemy stat will be client side to do the math with the character stats without internet traffic.

But maybe the devs can bring an analyse skill that show the player all the stats of the target and let him do the math himelf.

The weights are also different for lvl 50 as well. Heck, shields block for 7% more in lvl 50 dungeons, over lvl 60 content, and the shields are scaled down!

One reason why they wouldn't show the crit chance is because not everybody understands rng. If they know for certain their crit chance is 30% for example then they will expect 1/3 of their hits to be crits. As soon as they go a long streak without critting, they start complaining that the game's rng is broken and should be fixed.

Simple, just set up the forums such that any posts about that are automatically deleted from the forums. That way they can complain, but the post just gets whisked off into the ether never to be seen again. Out of sight, out of mind.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

You also have to contend with the fact that different enemies have different magical and physical defence so saying x move will do x dmg is pretty useless without working out the intended targets resistances. I actually think obscuring the stat weights isn't hand holding and it's more of the reverse if you have to slowly increase accuracy to achieve the minimum using the striking dummies I would say that is harder than being told outright you need 600 (if you are a mage) accuracy because I know you are all too lazy to work it out yourselves.

We won't get it. They already said the reason why stats are like that is because they want it to be stupid-friendly. Also they often change it so they tend to hide it.

Obscurity rarely caters to stupidity. It caters only to those who want to roll around in it, or stand atop those who do.

I don't think this is a "limitations" issue. I think they do it on purpose and I see it in many many MMORPGs. They tend to hide the DPS algorithms and how exactly stats work and affect DPS because they want to keep balance by hiding the "golden" formula so you can experiment and they can also hide any weaknesses in class and combat system. They also tend to change those algorithms from patch to patch without saying what exactly they changed. I think many devs fear the abuse will come by exposing the whole system to players. People will go to the golden classes and gears and exclude all the others. So they hide it. If you are to expose everything to the players you have to be sure everything is balanced and there is no perfect balance in any game.
