Weekly tomes don't limit endgame content, only the speed to get a full tome set.
Removing the weekly limit will call another way to limit the speed (like tome as random reward).
Also tome gears is not always BiS gear.

So, what is your alternative way to limit the speed of getting a full set?

Add a second Raid, so we would have two.

Want the better gear? Do Raids.

"Oh but i don't raid" excuses inc, irrelevant, Crafted gear and old i240 more than enough for anyone to even Clear normal Alex, so they don't need i270 to begin with.

But some of the savage gear is actually worse vs it's tome counterpart, would you rather farm A12s to get that chest piece with 120 acc or farm tomes to get the 120 crit rate piece?

Then what about the raid's weekly limit on loot and tokens?

    -Uncap tomes per week
-Add a system that allows you to apply those tomes per job. Each job having a limit on how much you can dump into it per week.

Problem solved, you are now still weekly capped, the speed at which you obtain any single jobs gear is still limited, however you are allowed to make progress on other jobs if you have the time or want to do so. (This obviously doesn't address how you would handle spending tomes on other items etc... however with something like this people wouldn't feel like they hit a brick wall as fast every week.)

Also I liked someone's suggestion of a rollover. So if you miss a week for whatever reason it allows you to catch up, if you are so inclined. Letting people play when they can or want to play. Instead of it feeling like a chore if you don't have a lot of time in a week to play.

Friend: "You're i190, you can't click a wrong button unless it is no buttons"
