Question about Fenrir Mount

Quick question for anyone that has the Fenrir mount as well as the Coeurl mount.

Do they essentially run the same way?

I don't use the Coeurl mount because I don't really like the way it runs, nor do I like the sound effects while running.

If the Fenrir mount is pretty much the same, I will know not to bother saving MGP for it!

Not exactly sure what you mean by runing the same way. Fenrir mount can also fly and it gains this very nice white sparkly particle effect. I can check the running once I login and can take flying particle screenshots in a bit.

So here how it looks when it's flying. The sparkling particles have ice/crystal sound.

Regarding the running. Fenrir seems to be smoother than Coeurl but it could just be me. They both have same mount music (but you can disable mount music if you don't like it).

I persoannly think that Fenrir is definitely worth getting. 1 mil MGP doesn't take that long. I did Triple Triad Tournament, GATEs and daily cactpot and got 1 mil and that was before they added challenges, so with challenges it will be even faster.

As of how they run, I feel like Coeurl seem like it runs a lot faster than the Fenrir, but that's due to size (I'm sure they run the same speed territorial wise if that makes sense lol).

The Fenrir can fly - the snowy path and the crystal-like sounds make the flying even better.

So saving 1 mil MGP for the Fenrir mount = totally worth it!

OP: It's a wolf mount. Who cares how it runs? Buy it! Totally worth the 1m MGP.

I have both mounts. Fenrir to me is pretty smooth. Coeurl feels faster but it's pretty much the same speed as Fenrir. Keep in mind there's a difference in size. Fen is huge. I love flying around with it.

I echo the others in saying I highly suggest you pick up the mount - it's a great one to have!

What I mean is, a lot of times different mounts will use the same basic "skeleton" and just have a different graphical "overlay" which means that the animations are essentially the same. It's the animations that I'm not fond of on the Coeurl. If the Coeurl and the Fenrir mount are using the same skeleton, it's likely that I won't like the Fenrir mount either.

As for sounds, I'm not talking about the mount music--I have that completely off anyway--I mean the sounds of the mount's feet hitting the ground. I like quiet mounts like the Company Chocobo, and the Unicorn isn't too bad either. The Coeurl is too noisy!

I did know about the flying and the sparkles, but thank you for the great screenshots! I do like the way it looks while flying.

I know all of my questions sound like I'm super picky, and I'll just admit it--I am! But a million MGP is a lot, and I'd hate to buy the mount and then not use it!

To be honest, I love my Fenrir to death. It is indeed worth the 1 mil, even before it could fly. (Just glad I didn't have to farm it xD)

The face is one only a mother could love...but it is a wonderful mount regardless. I wouldn't worry about the animation of these two mounts. Make it a goal.
