So many 41-50 wipes from people pulling whole rooms and then setting off luring traps...
Slow & steady, it's faster in the long run.

Yeah, i was in a party yesterday on 41-50 and just knew we were riding on that teetering edge... and sure enough. LAST ROOM, LAST FLOOR before the boss, guy says, use the witching pomander! and runs into a room with 20 mobs. ... -_-\\
Still, i'll happily take low clear rates on the 100-200 with great rewards.
Let 1-100 be for exp/tome grinding and some decent treasure. ... or frankly, let just 1-50 even be for that.
But really, i'm hoping for more creativity out of the floors ahead more than anything.... here's hoping.

Make it happen.

Are people forgetting that floors 100 to 200 are the 'savage' floors with no progression related loot on them? Or did they say something recently that shows they're going back on that idea?
I'm sure we'll see the mount and stuff there, but nothing weapon or gear related.
My guess:
The rarer hoard sacks will contain better loot, including completely new items exclusive to POTD such as the Wind Up Edda as well as some of the existing rarer minions and glamour pieces. Some new items will likely be obtainable through handing in potsherds though.

The idea that floor 100 is the "end" and the rest are just for the challenge is why I speculated that to enter Floor 101, or maybe it'll be 121 (we don't know) will require a maxed out Aetherpool Arms/Armor pair.

I just gathered my group of 3 and got a forth from random que on 41-50 and they did just that, then right before they died popped the rage pomander, and died, and lost it, and those adds reset onto us (bard machinist and whm with our own group) and we wiped. floor 47.Yeah, i was in a party yesterday on 41-50 and just knew we were riding on that teetering edge... and sure enough. This.
Friend/recruitment code for special items and things (use before paying first sub) RACN78W5 (updated) info on items here http://sqex.to/Cz9 code is entered via the mogstation.
Witch pomade helps greatly with whole room pulls, and besides people i have been with do that all the time, if it's a tank and a healer at least and got by fine, but a full dps only group usually does not last long with to many enemies.

That wouldn't really make sense as all other difficult content in the game (while it's relevant) doesn't require any form of item level to be reached.
Though I'm sure you'll probably want near-maxed armor and weapon anyway, if it's as hard as they are leading us to believe.

Umm .. hmm?
Everything (else) is either character level locked, or item level locked. Floor 1 of PotD has no Aetherpool requirement, but starting with Floor 11 you have to have a certain minimum Aetherpool level to enter. My gear is currently 30 30 in anticipation of tomorrow, so its not telling me what the requirement for 11 or 21 (the two floor sets I'm at right now), or I'd tell you what the requirements are exactly.
A5s-A8s require anywhere from i225 to i235 to enter. A9n+ require i230 to enter (not that they're difficult content).
You may simply not have noticed the ilevel requirements because you've already exceeded them.
