So yes, please, continue sitting on your high horse with your shiny 255 weapon, and criticize others who get mad at you while they ARE CLEARLY HAVING PROBLEMS, and all you can do is tell them how easy it all was.

Why are you so unfriendly to those who gave you advice? Many posters tried to help you here. But at the end its you who has to learn the fight yourself.

I dont really get what your problem is. Its a current ex fight, you go in and wipe wipe wipe till you get it. Might take hours or days or even weeks.

For me Sophia ex was also the first current ex fight I learned without overgearing it. It gets easier the more often you do it. Just try, wipe, think about why you wiped and how to do better next time, and try again...

If anything, you guys are the ones trolling. I made it perfectly clear in my opening post. I don't need help specifically with Sophia Ex. I'm usually the last one alive now in my attempts. All I asked for something to make me laugh or perk my mood up enough to keep trying. Instead, you all just heaped on me, claiming that I was a child and going out of your way to say how easy the trial was and how all of them and theirs cleared it. How EXACTLY did you expect me to react?

So yeah, I think I'm done here. Any SE mod out there? Please lock this thread. I've seen all of the community's attitude that I need to today.

I don't necessarily think anyone is trolling. It depends what side of the looking glass you're on. You said this is your first attempt at an EX Primal (upon release at least) so from your perspective, I can understand how the fight would seem incredibly difficult. There is a lot of things that happen, there's a ton of stuff that goes on that needs to be executed. From the perspective of people who have been doing Primals for a long time, though, it is one of the easiest ones upon implementation. Thordan and Sephirot were much worse, Titan was a veritable slaughterhouse when it was released. Plus, a lot of things get re-used in EX Primals so the more that you do them, the better you will get at them as a whole.

Keep at it and after training yourself to do harder end content, you'll be the one telling someone how the new EX primal in 4.4 is the easiest primal released since Sophia EX.

There's a 260 weapon???? What am I doing struggling against this then? How do I go get that instead?

if you read all the posts before, you'd see that ppl already said so
it takes 7 weeks to get the 260wep. you get weekly loot from A12. and use those gears to buy a micro-tome. or you can get micro-tome from A10S (which is far worse than sophia)
From Sophia, you can get 255 weps for all jobs, in a week or less.
260wep is more for ppl who don't want to or can't clear EX/savage content.

Also if you're looking for sympathy on forum, you're in veeeeery wrong place haha. ppl here are like piranhas who will devour you whole, if you're "bleeding"
if you want sympathy, ask FC/LS/Friends this place will only make you feel worse.

In A11S there is a drop that upgrades your shire weapon to 270

Starting November 1st, the next stage of the relic is coming out - likely to be ilvl 270.

you can get upgrade material for wep, in A10S.
and i doubt that relic will be 270, this early. it would make shire weps outdated before 99% of ppl could even get it.
but i'll hold on to my tomes until patch notes, just in case -.- if relic is 270, i won't bother buying shire wep.

I've watched videos of extreme trials before, and was always left with a feeling of "O_O oh that is 10 pounds of NOPE in a five pound bag", but I am determined to get this fight done and over with before the next member of the warring triad is released. I just....get a bit frustrated at times.

Wow, this boss got me in a bad head space. I just need a space to rant and rave and carry on, keeping profanity and caps lock usage to a minimum, so...here we go.

What kind of sadist in Square Enix came up with this?! This is the most god awfully hard boss encounter I have ever seen! Tank busters DESTROY you instantly, though, a polite mentor instructed me that I have to pop TWO CDs just to survive it....insanity... I mean, I have no idea what was wrong with me tonight but I couldn't even acquire threat on the demiurges OR SOPHIA when said helpful mentor tried to get me to try my hand at main tanking. Somewhere along the line I forgot how to do this? I've been tanking since Burning Crusade! This should be second nature by now! WHAT HAS THIS BOSS DONE TO ME!?

I remember when I used to play this game for fun. Now it feels like a form of some kind of punishment that they inflict on people down in Guantanamo bay. "You'll tell us where your base is, or we'll stick you in another Sophia Ex group, worm!" I'd gladly swap over to do something, anything else, but that Sophic Blade for DRK looks REALLY cool, and I see people running around all the time with Sophic weapons, so I assume it must be SOMEHOW possible. And everytime I see this, it fills me with a jealous rage. Are there FCs that relax by punching out cthulu and looting his corpse, or am I just having seriously bad luck with the raid finder?

And no... I don't think I need assistance with understanding the overall fight. I know what I'm SUPPOSED to do with Thunders and Aeros, the clones, the add phase... the scale tipping part I'm a little fuzzy on... and the stacking light and dark circles is simple enough. I even understand the tank buster phase, but for some reason, it just won't click. I'm up to my 9th wipe and third group attempting this. So, if you must post on my live journal whining... please help my state of mind about this. Post something funny or ragey.

To be honest Sophia EX is really a very easy Primal. If you die to the tankbuster you fail your defensive cooldown or your OT doesn't tankswap in time. And for all the rest that you don't understand you should watch a guide that explains it properly.

Its 6kish (DoM) - 8kish DoW before stacks. DPS and Healers usually have around 17-20k HP. DoM survive pretty easily since it take only 1-2k healing for them to survive. DoWs like Drg/Mnk need only an Indom to survive (or a Divine seals + medica or a Medica + SCH/SMN Virus.) Everyone by the end of it, will have very low health, but AOEs are very easy to deal with in the amount of time they give you. :O

With ilv235 I had barely 15K HP, DPS had 16K. With vulnerability stacks the damage goes up to nearly 9K-hit, not saying anything about weaknesses. So yeah, you're wrong. Also learning parties are NOT farm parties where you can let everyone get to low health because they probably know how to handle the next mechanic: you're running against time to get them to near full so they won't die to the next Thunder III.

In my opinion Sophia is not that easy. It is easier than Thordan, but I'd learn Sephirot or Ravana any day over learning Sophia.

Extremes can get very frustrating at times, Savage can be even worse. However, if you ever want to do endgame, you're going to have to dive in somewhere and this is probably the best place to in a long time since Sophia EX is so forgiving. Just imagine Sophia if you stayed dead and were no able to be raised everytime you fell off. That's what a lot of people who are saying how easy it is are used to... take Titan or Leviathan. If you dropped off the platform, you were out of the fight until the remaining members won or it reset. Now at their release they also did a lot of very punishing mechanics and had tight DPS checks too.

Sophia allows you to raise no matter what, doesn't really have a DPS check other than the add phase and that's not very tight at all, and the damage is high (especially the tank buster which hits like a truck) but not unmanageable. So that's a taste of what the people saying it's easy are accustomed to. Hopefully that gives a bit of flavor into their responses.

That being said, it's very much learnable and very much able to be cleared in the Raid Finder or in Party Finder clear parties (I tend to trust Party Finder much more than the Raid Finder.) Party Finder will also get you introduced to some of the endgame players on Lamia and starting to build those ties can prove useful in the future, especially if you are able to execute and show a willingness to learn and progress.

The last thought I can leave you with is I can guarantee you even those who think Sophia is easy, a vast majority of them were going at it for at least 2-3 hours before they were ready to clear it. Some it probably even took much longer than that to find the right party.
