Look I can see why Sophia might be difficult, most black mages struggle with this fight so you'll need some time. Also success is earned not given, if you want something then it is not without failure. I cleared mine with the Japanese RF on the first week, with lower ilevel gear, more inexperienced players and mechanics are not as simplified as they are now. 0 way to communicate since I can't speak japanese, the only thing we used was:

that's it, just a macro. You're in a NA server so learn to communicate or set up PFs if you must. And you need to find out what is going wrong (or at least tell us what are you dying to) before we can help you. If you're hitting enrage then parse the party, because I had one run where the BLM was blaming everyone and he/she was doing 500dps, whereas the pld was doing 1.4k.

Sorry but.. this is life man, nothing comes easy, if you give up too easily now, then you'll do the same outside of the virtual world. If you don't work for something you'll never grow nor value anything. You're pretty fortunate people are talking to you like mature adults, and not the usual " git gud" despite the way you respond.

People here have given enough advice to make a guide, despite the little information you're providing us. If you're struggling as a tank, watch videos. If you're playing a PLD, you can use tempered will during tilt to reduce the movement of the boss so you can pull more DPS or use it as an emergency button if you mess up. Save sheltron for Tank busters( unless you're more experienced), use divine veil right after the ADDS phase or whenever important. You can use cover on your co-tank during tank busters (be sure to pop CDS). The tank buster is physical, the auto attacks are magic based so you won't die if you use cover. 1:10Minute into P3 there will be a a set of skills in this order, Clones,Thunder3> Aero3>Tank buster>Execute + Laser, if you have no choice get hit by the laser rather than Aero3. DRK might be a little hard for you so maybe you can consider using a PLD? By now it is rather hard to die to the auto attack of a tank buster anyway more healers are capable of healing you through the light resist down debuff.

Sooo....yeah. I just got finished my 16th group of this, and you know what? This is stupid. I've wasted so much time doing this, and really, what's the point if I'm not having fun? This isn't enjoyable, and I really don't care if people think it's easy as compared to whatever. If that was even 1% true, a clear would have been possible with even ONE group. And for what, really? A 7% chance of actually getting the weapon I want? "But you can buy it in 9 more clears!" oh...oh wow, just....no... I mean....NOOOOOOOOOO...

This will be my final update to this thread. I give up. I'm throwing in the towel. Sophia wins, and I guess Square Enix wins. I'm completely and totally done. This is a massive waste of time. I've seen Sophia at 8% multiple times, but she just raises both middle fingers and kills us all. Because that's what ALL difficult fights need. A time limit. Nah, I think I'm going to do...well, literally ANYTHING else.

Either you have horrendous groups or you aren't mitigating her tank busters properly. Friends I farm her with use only their weakest mitigation and foresight. If we aren't pushing phases, they may need to pop an immunity, but otherwise they'll be fine. If the tilts are killing you, just remember to always run to the opposite side of blue and look at the tethers. An even amount will mean a hard tilt while odd will be soft. You avoid them by either staying on the very edge or on the circular patterns (nipple mechanics), respectively. Cintamani (her raid wide aoe) should be mitigated with Mantra if you have inexperienced healers, though it's far from necessary. After killing adds, you bait meteors to the top right and run opposite. Later on, during phase three, she'll do meteors a second time after casting Thunder II. You bait at an unsafe area then run to whatever's safe.

You should do an event. Setup a time for forum dwellers to queue for uncomplete in raid finder to try and get you your clear. If 3-4 members have already cleared your chances go up drastically. There are allot of nice people here. I would go, just for the fun of it.

Had some farmruns yesterday with a Dragoon who got around 20 misses per fight. We still made it somehow, even with so few fails during this fights.

Still love the fight, no problem to beat her.

Just to confirm that, if your dying with 1 CD either some of your gear is broken, you have debuff from her aoes or the healer/co tank is not doing their part. Ran last night and got a couple of clears but I was paired with a WHM and SCH, 1 of which said she had been there for 6 hours yet every tank buster me and co-tank were at 50% or lower when it hit and that was with dodging all possible damage. Even living dead would not save me (cus lack of heal)
