Who told you I didn't read the whole thread? 90% of it is people saying sophia ex is easy.there is already a ton of useful into already out there in the interwebs
Visual and video guides, class specific guides and even an illustrated guide.
All one needs to do is visit the Google places
Oh..and actually ready the thread![]()
there are pages of folks telling her what cool downs to use and how to time them.
Don't assume something when you only read the first few and the last few posts
Repeating the advice given by the 10%, however, does not actually help D:
Granted saying "it's easy" over and over does not help either but if the argument is that 'no one ' is giving help or advice that is absolutely inaccurate and, again, repeating all the advice that has already been given (very very complete advice in some cases) really would be no better than repeating "it's easy" other than giving us a different flavor of thread. That being said, I am going to go get some reese's pieces now and enjoy the day. Hope everyone has a good one!

I rather repeat helpful advise 100 times than "it's easy" 100 times. Helpful is always a better than not. Trying to make it sound like both are bad is misleading.Repeating the advice given by the 10%, however, does not actually help D:

Well, if nothing else, I've learned a great deal about tanking from this experience, and expanded my knowledge to macros. Rigged up something so that it fires off my defensive CDs all in sequence with one button. In theory, it should soak up a tank buster from Sophia just fine, and if there's another in there to surprise me, living dead and convalescence should handle that.
I've pretty much solved my woes with the tilting mechanic. The big road block I'm faced with now is that my groups just can't muster the DPS to kill her for she enrages and kills us all instantly. The lowest I've seen her get to is 8%, and this doesn't seem like something I can help very much with. Hmmm...
Yes. Sophia-Ex is really an introduction to all the other EX primal fights.
Thordan-Ex is the hardest IMO. It's basically the longest, least forgiving and most mechanically intensive fight. I believe it took most casuals a month or more to even clear it, never mind farm it. It takes almost every boss mechanic out there and puts it in a single, multi-phase fight. If you fight it synced to iLvl 200-210, that should give you an idea of every major mechanic available in the game (sans the directional parry).
Sephirot and Nid-ex are less hard and more frustrating, and I honestly hate those fights, but Thordan remains the current king of hard Primal-Ex fights.

Was this guide posted in the thread at all? I had watched videos, but they didn't seem to help that much until I read this one.
I had a terrible time with Sophia at first because I had never done EX primals when they were "current content," so the difficulty came as quite a... shock. :V Other than reading a guide, learning parties were immensely helpful because actually experiencing it is more helpful than reading about it, and everyone expected wipes, so it was a lot less stressful, which made me more comfortable.
At first I thought everyone was ridiculous for finding it easy, but now I can see what they mean. Once you really learn the fight, it's not terribly difficult, although if you've never done any EX primals until now, I can see why you'd find it so hard.

I find Sophia actually very easy! Oh wow, same server too! How have the parties even been on average? I cleared it with my static in like 3 hours and now farm it in rf. It isn't so bad but I main heal. Not sure about tanking it xD

Keep in mind there's a huge difference between doing things with a static and doing things with pugs in party finder. My group cleared Sophia pretty quickly too, but that doesn't mean I forget the days when I had no static in 3.0 and took probably 3 whole weekends trying to pug Ravana to get a single clear.
It's a different world when you can stick with one group who learns the fights, vs having to try for an hour, have a group break up, and then try another hour with a group that might have maybe one person who was in the previous group, learning with you. It makes the process a lot slower.

I think I lost track at about 9 groups so far, many of whom are there with Sophic weapons so I'm not exactly sure what they're going to accomplish. I mean, people can say that Sophia is easy, I only get mad when they kind of say it in a mocking tone, like I just need to "get gud", but she's got a kill score of well over 100 this week and I've yet to get that clear. So....what the heck?
