I wouldn't be opposed to there being a voice chat channel available in game.

It'll be odd in most cases but I see more help then harm. ESO has it and things seem better. I will say it does slightly force people to be more respectful, SLIGHTLY. Course I'm NOT counting COD or any FPS voice chat system where kids do nothing but insult other players. I DO have a question tho, What is with the voice hate? And no I don't want the normal throw away answer " I don't wanna hear their music/voice/I hate my voice" as those I feel are throw way answers. I ask this as alot of my friends and people I meet hate voice so much they NEVER would answer a phone. But would text you back. Sometimes it's just easier to say something then type it. But I'm OLD school so I lean more towards voice anyway.
I'm not attacking anyone either, nor am I saying voice is better in ALL cases either. I'm just wondering if there are other reasons besides the ones people throw out there normally.

I use voice chat on a daily basis, i just dont think SE should put any effort into it when other companies do it better. Discord is completely free and can be used on pretty much any device.
On that one yeah, I don't see that going over well, for mostly the big reason FFXIV is on all platforms. Be kindof hard to get Sony and Microsoft to actually agree on anything sadly. The Division could've been cross platform if they played nice. T.T So many friends on Xbone and none on PS4. I refuse to switch tho cause I like my Playstation. I need more PS4 friends. Too many Bone friends. T.T

This. Remember when WoW added voice chat? Nobody used it, not even when they improved it.
I think those particular reasons are valid enough even if there are throw away but there are others too. Like:
-Hearing voices messes with my concentration in the game.
-Hearing voices messes with my immersion of the game(an RP type reason).
-I am uncomfortable with my heavy accent.
-I can't speak or understand whatever language everyone is using.
-I get serious social anxiety or "stage fright" when I have to speak.
-I have a speech impediment or somekind of issue that makes it hard to speak.
-I'm deaf.
-I am afraid of future harassment. (Generally associated with female gamers.)
-My mic is broken? xD
Or most people just simply don't like it. Or don't want to hear it which is fine. I'm like this. I don't want to hear it.

Lololol there you go! :P

It's usually better for everyone to not hear what I have to say. My SO gets earful enough against their will.
But in seriousness, I don't want to hear anyone else and I don't want to keep a headset on the entire time I'm in game. I'm usually listening to music, talking to my SO and/or playing with my dog between objectives. I only have discord on my speakers (lowest volume I can while still able to listen for calls) when absolutely needed and my mic is off. No desire to chat outside of text.
OT: I'm not against an all system in-game voice chat, but I won't use it unless necessary.

A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.

As long as it isn't available for use in Duty Finder parties. Pre-made? Sure, yeah. But think about the crap you would hear in DF. Just think about it for a sec.
