Titled because I'm sure everyone thinks it.

If I run in first, grab the boss, hit it with Overpower/Flash/Whatever DRKs do and I'm in Defiance/Shield Oath/Whatever DRKs do, I'm intending to tank it. Unless there is a boss switch mechanic that happens within two seconds of the pull, don't try to take it from me.

You're just going to get people killed. Probably me when I haven't realized what you've moronically done so I don't expect Titan to pound me over the edge.

The words you're looking for are Unleash and Grit, respectively.

That said, Overpower/Flash/Unleash should not be used on single target bosses. That's what Tomahawk/Shield Lob/Unmend followed by your single target aggro combo is for.

Actually Overpower is acceptable for single target.

It only costs 10 TP more, and has 10 less potency, but if I recall has a 5x enmity multiplier as compared to Tomahawk which, if I remember correctly, is 3x enmity.

So it's not THAT bad.

I was unclear, and I apologize. When I said grab the mob, I do actually use Tomahawk initially, followed by Overpower to prep for the onslaught that's coming in two seconds.

How I read that;

It's not that bad, no, but it's hardly more efficient to use a "x5 threat" AoE move for 10 more TP, Rather a "x3 threat" single target for 10 less TP, just to establish early aggro by 0.01s-1s (Even at the cost of threat) and then go into your single target aggro combo.

In 24 man content, this is more likely to be what you encounter, but in Savage content, you want everyone hitting the enemy the exact moment you do. With no seconds in between. (Granted current Savage content is far easier on DPS requirements.)

I feel the better argument is that they may or may not need that extra 10 TP later. Since "establish early agrro" is going to be done with the same level of effectiveness wiht their strategy, if not more, as is clearly taught to lower level players, when AoEs generate more threat per GCD than a combo can. (Sucks SE doesnt try to teach players properly from the start)

This is constructive. And when you are trying to belittle other tanks or generally players of your same role it doesn't make you look very competent when you don't even know the proper names of skills.

PS Might be a good idea to communicate with your co-tank since you know, this is a team thing and you're not just soloing the battle yourself. Or just do Levequests if you can't tolerate other people.

You are doing it wrong. This is not a speed race whoever runs first gets the boss. Use your keyboard to ask who want to be the MT or just say that you want to be the MT before you run. I see some people doing that rushing to the boss before even buffs just to "announce" with this way they want to be MT. Or it's like a secret competition between tanks which shouldn't be. We have a chat function let's use it.

I noticed since I have been tanking that there is always 1 player in the Alliance that says nothing and when the fight starts he/she pulls stays in tank stance and tries to grab the agro away from the player who told at the start of the run that if others do not want to main tank, he/she will do it. Worst part is when we see a agro battle between two tanks which turns from a gameplay thing into a verbal cat fight.
