After trying to remember how to run as admin, I did as the site said and I got in with out any troubles....for the time being that is. Not sure if this helps any but I have Charter Communications did as StouterTaru suggested and I am in. best of luck to everyone.

I'm being used by Comcast in Atlanta. I just kept spamming until I got in. Usually it's like 20% chance at getting in. Got in twice this way.

Using Cox 5/50 cable broadband here in RI, and I haven't been able to connect since this morning at 5AM.

Connecting from the UK using BT infinity here, not been able to connect to the Primal datacentre (where my characters are) since this morning. Was perfectly fine last night.

Will SE give us subscription days back if service is impacted like this? never had to deal with this issue before

I can connect to Diabolos with only one character of six. I only really play one of my characters, and I can't connect with that one.

The one that I can get in with is in Ul'dah, and is still in the "instanced" starting quests.

This seems really odd to me. Why is it that I can connect with one character but not the others?

Its not YOUR ISP that's the problem.

Its one of the waypoints that the data to and from the game uses to get to the datacenter's ISP that's the problem.

Your connection <-> your ISP <-> various internet infrastructure <-> some problem somewhere <-> various internet infrastructure <-> datacenter's ISP <-> your game server

Does that clear things up?

I know exactly how this sort of thing works, but based on the fact that I can log in with one character on Diabolos, but none of my other characters on the same world, I'm not sure this is due to the problem you describe.

I'm in Canada, on Rogers Internet, I can log in and play with no issues.
Hopefully you guys get yours resolved soon.

It's a very rare thing when I see another person living in Nebraska...it's like finding a needle in a haystack!

On topic, I dced last night when this problem first occured around 11:00 pm CST.
It's now 6:31 pm CST and there's still no fix......sigh

Okay so I'm going that it's a DDoS attack and SE just thinks we are juvinile and won't know what that means. Would be far more understanding, just tell us what's up SE. We live in the Information Age, this stuff happens, just be honest about it. What was released this morning was kinda garbage.
