    All North American Data Center Worlds Network Technical Difficulties (Oct. 26)


    Currently, players utilizing certain Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are experiencing technical difficulties with all North American data center Worlds causing them to be unable to log in or become disconnected from the game.

    We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

    Square-Enix will say it's not their problem and the ISPs will say it's not their problem. I read this started last night on the 26th so it's been going on for over 12 hrs. If it's been going on for 12 hrs, don't expect a fix any time soon.

    I also forgot to mention I can log into the other Data centers except the 2 North American Data Centers so I don't think it's an ISP problem. I'm 90% certain it's a SE problem.

    This problem started for me sometime last night. I logged off around 9PM last night and tried logging on this morning at 6AM, Primal-Excalibur. I've tried about 7 times to log in with no luck. However, I can log into my alt on Elemental-Typhon repeatedly with no problem. I agree with SSimpson that it's probably not an ISP problem.

    Its not YOUR ISP that's the problem.

    Its one of the waypoints that the data to and from the game uses to get to the datacenter's ISP that's the problem.

    Your connection <-> your ISP <-> various internet infrastructure <-> some problem somewhere <-> various internet infrastructure <-> datacenter's ISP <-> your game server

    Does that clear things up?

    Not for me. I would like a official explanation from SE. I currently have their online chat up, I'm going to simultainously talk to them and Comcast at the same time. It will be lovely. I'm sure I'll be stuck in the middle of a, it's your fault, it's their fault. But at least I'll have a transcript!

    Quoting this mostly to say the Lightning pic made my day. Also to say I'm sorry to hear about the DDoS attack on Level3. But that clears things up for me a bit.

    Yeah, it's interesting that I can't connect via Comcast in Georgia to Diabolos, but my aunt can connect via Comcast in New Mexico. I don't even know what to think at this point.
