I'll try that. I've been dc'd for about 13 hrs or more now and I'm not happy.
I have no interest in starting another character on a completely different data center. Not really useful as an alt...
I wasn't able to connect to the alt I made on my server... but I might try creating another character on my server again to see what happens.
Though even this doesn't terribly interest me since I won't have access to my FC to gear out the alt for quicker leveling, Furniture bonuses, etc.
Level3, the main owner of almost all the internet backbone in the USA is experiencing a world wide DDoS attack which has been going on since Oct 25th. It really ramped up yesterday and today. Certain ISPs, like AT&T use Level3's lines to route to access the data centers. Hell, from what i'm reading most of houston is down because of this attack right now. This is NOT SE's problem.

1. Sorry not sure what you were trying to suggest other than there wasn't a problem earlier and that there is now.1. That's just ridiculous, I was able to log on 10:30pm last night no problem; later on couldn't. Never ever had a problem with error codes logging in.
2. It's not at the point of reimbursement yet, but highly unprofessional to blame it on our ISP's; if that's the case, we do what to fix this purported issue?
3. I don't know much about how I get routed to whatever, but what this tells me is that it is their servers, not the ISP. I usually find companies blame other companies for errors to cover for them while they get the issue fixed.
2. The only fix is complain to your ISP to route your traffic differently (which they probably won't do), wait until Level 3 fix their problems (unknown amount of time, could take days) or use VPN software that will route your traffic differently around the problem without your ISP having to do it.
3. Square Enix have no control over anything except their own servers. How you get to their servers is not up to them. They are at a specific "address" on the Internet. Your ISP is choosing the roads to take to get to that address and in this case they're choosing roads with major blockages.
Completely different games... and their servers are very likely located in a completely different physical location. Therefore the Internet routes to get to those servers are different.
They don't own your ISP or Level 3 and have no influence over them. There is nothing they can do except post that they know there is a problem and any updates they also get.
SE only provide the service (which they have done, the servers are up and those of us on ISPs not using Level3 can connect just fine). They're not responsible for you having an Internet connection that works properly and is capable of getting you to their servers.
Yes because people don't understand the problem and blame the wrong company.
Because Ragnarok is located in Germany, Europe. Hyperion is located in Montreal, Canada, a completely different continent. Your journey/route to these servers are very different!
That's good to know. I figured it was DDoS. CCP "EVE Online" tells their players when their servers are ever effected or are down. They are honest about the issue. What SE released this morning was kinda garbage. They could have added the DDoS attack.Level3, the main owner of almost all the internet backbone in the USA is experiencing a world wide DDoS attack which has been going on since Oct 25th. Well that makes sense, wish I knew more about other MMOs in relation to things like level 3 and all that.Level3, the main owner of almost all the internet backbone in the USA is experiencing a world wide DDoS attack which has been going on since Oct 25th. Anyways back to not being able to get on today, not that I have a lot of time to do anything before work so not to bad. Lets see if the attacks die down some later on.
It's time to give up explaining to people, I tried. Some of these posters are the reasons why someone like Trump in theory can become president of the US.1. Sorry not sure what you were trying to suggest other than there wasn't a problem earlier and that there is now.

Thanks for the update about the DDOS attack.
That makes a bit of sense. Sucks though, but I guess maybe I don't need to play on the computer today.
Maybe.
Maybe I'll just go
...outside...
