Lol "Can't XIV have its own identity for once". Well, how about we have an event for three weeks where Omega Weapon bombs the three cities and we need to fend him off? Make it savage level since it is, of course, Omega Weapon, and have monsters invade the cities whenever this happens and have them aggro to every PC there.

That would actually be fun, IMO.

That said, I want to see a Kingdom Hearts event and an FFXV event in the future as well.

Reminds me of the WoW pre-expansion events, could be cool but the only issue I see is keeping player interest for the duration otherwise it could just get annoying. I say this because I like hanging out in Limsa over Idleshire and if I get everything I can get from it in the first week then you can bet the next 2 weeks or so would get old really fast. Not to mention you'd have to protect the new players in some way (especially when everyone does a mass exodus and then the new players are left to defend themselves), although I'm sure new players would be taken into consideration.

I'm so over the "XIV doesn't have it's own identity!" posts. That being said, I welcome any crossovers they do, and I don't care if it's wacky or serious, I'll be getting my hands on it regardless.

Of all the possibilities past and present, this is the only one I hope they actually will do. I won't sit and begrudge the other crossover events their fans, but I wasn't exactly excited about any of them. Running into a handful of the non-FF, non-Disney KH cast that could wind up popping into our world for a bit? That would absolutely get my attention. And at least it would make some sense. World hopping is a thing they do, no? Whatever the reason they arrive, I'd screenshot every crazy second of it. Even if they were the bad guys.

Especially if they were the bad guys. Because Xemnas. Rawr.

Anyway, it may not be worth much, especially if they have to pick a fight with Disney, but SE's got my wholehearted support to make this happen.

Yeah player retention is the obstacle there. If friends tell me true an event similar to what I suggested is part of how they closed out 1.x so an event like this wouldn't be unheard of.

I can just imagine: My poor character trying to sleep in his apartment, but he can't because every single one of his neighbors are blasting their new Simple and Clean Orch. Roll. Then, exhausted from lack of sleep he goes to Limsa, where he is accosted by scores of keyblades. Keyblades everywhere.

This goes on for weeks until finally, at his wits end, he climbs to top of the Mizzenmast and jumps into the harbor.

I know someone in an earlier thread mentioned about it and how the weapons would make a good reward. Though after Yokai event I would be afraid at what would be entailed to receive them. Will admit a fair amount of them would transition well I think, with some maybe needing a slight alteration to suit some classes.

Sure, why not? It's not like FFXIV cross-over events follow/respect the worlds lore any more (what even was the lore behind the Yokai Watch event? I didn't do it because spamming FATE's is not my idea of fun).
