This is another layer of difficulty that cuts a lot of players from playing the game. You have no idea what kind of discussions I had to go through with my bf to get him hand his account info to a relatively unknown company that has gotten a lot of negative reviews from users and other companies.

He was really excited to play at first but I'm telling you without my persuasion C & B would have made him not think about playing XIV ever again.

It's just one guy I know but especially today with disasters like psn and steam accounts being hacked everyone else is upping their game when it comes to payment options and security. SE ignoring this issue is not a solution.
