    It wasn't recently spiced up, it has always been that way

    That said, it is kind of inconvenient. I remember trying to do my low level MNK jobquest, and an A rank was right on top of the quest location.
    I tried to complete the quest 3 times until I just gave up and decided to return the next day when the hunt was over ~.~

    Have you tried out "/shout <t> hunt at <pos>"?
