Do attributes have got cap ? Or was it removed

Before all these updates, every attribute had a cap. So when I was lvl 30 with str 120 only part of these 120STR counted and the rest was not used.

Example : I am lvl 30 with STR 120, only 70 of STR is used for character and 50 is not counted into the stat at all. (This was before updates).

I didnt read anything about this cap for attributes removed in patch notes. So I wonder if this was removed but it should have by my guess.

It should otherwise materias +stats would be limited and that would be nonsense.
