    Accidentally selected the wrong character for my name change.

    I've called several times and been told that they won't refund me because "it's my own fault." I just feel that is a terrible reason not to help me. I haven't even used the name change. If I really cannot even be refunded, is there some sort of in game credit I can get? I'm really sad that Square won't do anything. It was a simple mistake that can be easily fixed, that any other business should help with.

    Please help me

    If you've called and they said they can't help you, then they can't help you.

    No one here can do anything about it, you're stuck. Next time be more careful.

    I really hope you're not support.
    Anyway, they said they refused to give me a refund.
    But there are plenty of other ways to help.
    Mogstation credit? Gil? A mount?
    Anything, honestly.
    I cannot think of anywhere else that would just say "be more careful" if you purchase the wrong thing.
    Especially if it is something I have not used, and is only digital.
    It's very poor customer service.

    I don't know of any other store or company that offers refunds for DIGITAL goods, so no, it's not poor customer service, you made a mistake.

    Companies typically offer refunds for their own faults, not their customer's.

    I don't know why you'd expect some exception, especially for something that is 100% user error

    While these forums sometimes get official responses, the majority of it is other users assisting each other.

    Personal account issues, especially dealing with purchases, can't be handled here

    Gotta agree with Ashelia on this one, SE has done nothing wrong is this regard and you are simply angry because you messed up. It says in the ToS when you bought it that they do not offer refunds and you take that risk when you purchase a digital item (you can't just take it back, it is coded into your character now). The risk didn't work out favorably for you apparently, so it's on you to fix the mistake unfortunately.

    I'm also not support, chances are support won't even bother with this because the answer is "Read the ToS"

    That's why I triple check stuff with a ruler so just incase my eyes starts doing their own thing I can just follow the ruler. But yea it's your fault kupo.

    On topic: I know steam gives refund for "Reason: Wrong puchase" as long as you haven't played the game you bought from steam and a certain amount of time has yet to pass, but yeah this isn't steam/Valve anyway, and Square Enix has their own set of Terms of Service, so, tough luck. Be more careful next time, if there's a next time. :O

    There's also a HUGE disclaimer whenever you make a purchase tied to one character. If I recall, it warns of attaching the purchase to the wrong character, and that they're not going to be able to fix it if you do. So you ignored the ToS AND the disclaimer?
