I'd totally get behind this. I like some of the male poses (male NIN one, for example), and an FC mate like the female DRK pose, and would prefer it for his male character (plus, I would love for mine to stand like Cloud when she's on DRK because he is my fav FF character). I understand people wanting variety, but I just don't agree with gender locks for poses. I don't see any real reason behind it.
I'd also like them to remove gender locks from some of the idle and sitting poses. Why can't my female Miqo'te have the kitty squat pose males have, too? D:

I think there are other ways to promote diversity without falling back on archaic gender-based divisions. I don't care to wear a skirt as a man, but what works for me doesn't work for all. You have to get out of your comfort zone sometimes for others. It makes sense that they're different based on gender given who exactly the DRK poses are based on though - the male DRK pose is clearly Cloud's iconic pose from FFVII, but the female DRK pose appears to be emulating Saber from the (non SE/FF) anime and visual novel series Fate ~ Stay Night, so genderwapping them would just ruin the reference.
Saying you want to promote uniqueness by blocking this seems a bit shaky at best. But again, differences of opinion are a good thing.
Yeah, I had been thinking the same thing. The best thing to do would probably be to make it a toggle - the command "acpose" (or whatever the actual command ends up being) would flip you between "male emotes" and "female emotes" whenever you entered it, and would simply switch your entire roster of emotes/poses/etc. when used.
Also while we're at it: can we please have some way to change the female midlander run? Even though I'm a kitty at the moment, I have been a female mid (and will be again at some point, I'm a fantasia'holic) and I love her but I do find myself a bit annoyed that she HAS to always run like that unless sprinting.
That's silly. The only way you could "ruin the reference" is if you took the female pose away from females entirely, and took the male pose away from males. If females CAN do the male pose and vice versa, everyone isn't going to suddenly stop doing the pose that was originally created for their character's gender.
For poses/emotes and (especially) idle battle stances to be gender-locked in the first place is ridiculous.
Yes please!
While we're at it, can we please get a toggle to make /cposes are default pose? I hate having to hit /cpose again every time I move an inch.
My wife asked me to add a request for a riding /cpose as some female models ride normally and some side-saddle.
Try shortening the idle animation timer. It does actually change you to whichever pose you'd set before, but only after that timer runs out.
I'd like the ability to sit on the Bomb Palanquin's swing rather than crouch on it (as male miqo'te).
That's really handy, thanks! It's not 100% perfect (my main concern is that if I do my DRK /vpose, it ends with my sword resting on my shoulder, then I grab it with both hands in front of me, then it goes right back to my shoulder :P) but it's still a ton better!

Hint, timer can be set to 0 too, so the minute you stop they move to the new pose. Still not perfect though.
White Mage ~ Sage ~ AstrologianBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
