Server Suggestion?

Hello, couple of my friends want to play FFXIV. We're looking for a server that's not too populated nor too dead. Any suggestions? I currently play on Gilgamesh, but I would like to move to a medium size server with my friends that are new to FF.

While i could always suggest Leviathan, it is fairly populated
i must first ask what region do you guys reside?
If your from Europe it may be more worthwhile to play on a EU server, not sure if lag would be a issue being on a server from a different region.

We are all NA, I forgot to mention that XD. But lag shouldn't be an issue at all. Thank you for the response!

Hyperion is decently sized. It's one of the larger servers, yet overlooked by many since it's not in the top running of population.
Of course, I may be a bit biased in this one... hmm...

I really like Coeurl, and it's kind of mid-sized, lots of people around if you play at peak hours, and never looks deserted even at the most off-peak, but low volume enough for people to be polite about hunts (most of the time) and housing doesn't instantly sell out.

(Again, highly biased info, though, as I haven't really tried the others for comparison.)

Ragnarock is the most populated server i know off, cerberus is medium populated - always around 10+ stuff on PF, not always what you look for though

I really wouldn't recommend an EU server if you don't wanna lose interest in the game. I've been on Cerberus for a year and people were just rude and not polite at all. On top of that, everyone kept talking in their own languages, not caring if other people would understand or not, which is pretty rude as well.

Don't join Gilgamesh or Balmung if you don't want big servers. I made friends on Siren when I was there, and it seems pretty decently sized. Lot of great folks around there
