In-Game Library

Hey all, ( ^^)y
Just did a quick search but didn't find a simiar topic and with the release of the lore book (forgot the name) I wondered if we could have something similar in-game by way of a library.

I really love the lore of the game! The only "problem" I have is, that I kind of forget stuff between patches, like the meaning of certain names or historical events.

I really dig stuff like the tome that's next to Unukalhai and I thought to myself, why can't we have a place that is dedicated to stuff like that? Maybe Papalymo could start collecting booking in the Rising Stones or something.

In the end I'd lover to discover a place like a library where I could unlock more lore while I play which would also serve as a great reminder for people like me who forget certain aspects after a while. Maybe collecting said tomes could work like musical sheets with the Orchestrion. What does the community think?

A lot of fans clamored for exactly that for quite some time, and then things went in a bit of an unexpected direction. Knowing that people were excited for a library, and needing an atmosphere for a new dungeon, they created the Great Gubal Library. Seems weird, right? We got a few great lore bombs in there, but it's not really a place you can hang out. It's a different type of content entirely, right?

BUT... there's now a foot in the door. Think of all the resources that were committed to building that dungeon. That's a lot of textures and objects! Why, if they had some resources to spare and demand remained high, it might almost be possible to just whip up a restored version of the library!

In the quest to unlock the Great Gubal Library (Hard), Yayake hinted at just that... though who knows what'll actually come to pass.

It's 2016 and I still long for this room aesthetic from the hot new unannounced Square Enix MMO tech demo of 2009.

Disregard my last post. I was referring to editing posts. Still have no idea how one can do that. Anyway,

I had no idea that was being requested (though, it seems reasonable). The Great Gubal Library would be perfect for that. I just unlocked it, so I'm looking forward to reading whatever books are in there. Talking about dungeons... I don't like that stuff like that is strewn across the floor. We all know people get ....annoyed if you stop to read something. To me that seems like bad design.

Use the desktop site, even on your mobile phone. Gives you full features.

When I did Gubal for the first time, I just clicked every book and skipped reading the content. Then, when we finished the instance, I scrolled up the log to read the content. It worked for Dusk Vigil too (pretty creepy story there !).

I always try to run with friends the first time so we can uncover the stories together. It would be nice if we could enter undersized (not unsynced) though for newer places like this, in case we want to check an easily-accessible book or location without dragging a bunch of people in with us :s

Another option is to run through the dungeon after it's cleared, just don't exit and return to start. You have 10 minutes to read through it all and that should be enough.

I would LOVE an interactive bookshelf that let us read the lore we find in dungeons and stuff. I don't want to have to do a dungeon again if I just want to read one of the books.
