    Issue using gaming mouse keybinds

Hey all, I know this is a long shot but I'm sure someone else has ran into the same issue. I have a redragon gaming mouse with side buttons 1-12. I have them setup to be alt-1 through alt-12. The problem I'm having is it seems like the mouse is recognizing the buttons as both 1-12 and alt 1-12, so it jumps back and forth between skills on my hot bar. I'm not sure if that makes sense but it's the best I can do to explain it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you macro it or direct keybinding?
Sometimes it is a driver problem and the driver wasn't full loaded and working before starting FFXIV.

I used the program that came with the mouse. It shows the buttons on the side and I pick what I want each button to do. Maybe I should try reinstalling the mouse drivers. It seems like the side buttons are using both 1-12, as well as alt 1-12. So FF XIV is cycling between two skills on two different hot bars.

Sounds like maybe FFXIV is reading the actual button press (ex: the "5" button) and the mouse driver is sending your mapped/macroed key (ex: the "alt+5") as well. Maybe there is a setting in the mouse software to prevent this.

I have a Razer Naga Epic which also has 12 buttons. I use mine a little differently, but maybe this would work for you if you can't get it to work the way you originally wanted to. I don't map the mouse 1-12 buttons to anything in the mouse software, which by default just makes those keys translate to 1-9, 0, -, or =. In other words, it'll send the default keymapped values for your main hotbar. I have multiple rows of hotbars, and I've keybound them (in FFXIV) to Ctrl+<number> and Alt+<number>. I can then use any skill from my hotbars by pressing ctrl/alt (if necessary) and the button my mouse.

Not knowing your exact mouse, I would guess you'd want to take your macro to be a Hold alt, press number, rather then Alt+Number. Easy enough to do on my Razer Naga.

Thanks for the replies! I'll try some of it out when I get home. I have the redragon mouse. Love it! Works great for WoW, just had the issue with FF XIV
