China is getting wings

Extremely ugly. No wings SE, please. Especially angel/demon wings that look like they were imported from a korean mobile game.

Yep, wings are so damn ugly. I wonder why one of those characters are the most loved in the Final Fantasy series. Give us the wings SE. There's literally no reason for it to not be an option. -_-

Hmmm... Not bad, but this isn't the start of a slippery slope.

What I mean is that I came from another MMO that had glamour designs that started out quite like FFXIV, and then for some reason they started outsourcing all glamour design to fanartists. Cue remotely interesting designs that actually fit the setting being tossed out the window as the years passed, to be replaced with virtually every new design being trashy overdesigned modern crap that has no place in a raid against a dragon. The game always started out with wings too, but their size and obnoxiousness would literally double every year once they started giving the fanartists too much creative power. It's become so bad to the point where they literally had to add a button to the more recent wings to 'fold' them to make them smaller, so their sheer size doesn't get your allies killed in raids. (This is especially bad in a MMO where all non-glamour equipment mostly looks the same, only raid gear looked different and there was only really one raid set a year.)

I suspect something similar resulted in the creation of these wings for FFXIV, because incidentally, the vast majority of the contract fanartists from my previous MMO were Chinese despite it being a Korean MMO. (There WERE Korean contract fanartists but no one has heard from them for years, and they were responsible for older designs that were actually rather tasteful that I still wear in that MMO to this day.)

Please don't let this blow up all over again. I don't mind them bringing things over that were once exclusive BUT AT THE SAME TIME some things being exclusive isn't bad. Atleast when it isn't done for just one region.

That said no flight, apparently its in their cash shop too instead of an event...seems like a bad exclusive all the same?

They can't fly, so it's like those fake wings used for some christmas cosplays.

If we were to get the wings, I'd demand some stylish emotes like this to go with 'em.
I mean c'mon. If you want to pay proper tribute to the winged characters of FFs past, gotta do it with the proper spectacle.
