Well I can only assume that their opinions are based on whether the outfit fits the setting of the game or sticks out like a sore thumb. From what I see, the New World outfits still have all the stylings of normal FFXIV gear just with a slight Western motif with the fringes

Whereas these wings are just straight-up generic angel wings with no FF spin on them, even the FFVII wings had stylized anatomy (and the wings that appeared on Rinoa were not physical wings, they were just a manifestation of the Sorceress power unlike that fanmade picture posted earlier)

But you're never going to live down the tacky Korean MMO reputation these things have, or that they are a magnet for bad fanfiction writing and poorly made OCs.

Honestly just sounds like your just plain against wings in general, as well as the other complaints in this thread. "F2P Wings, ugh." "So tacky!" "Keep your Koreans out of my MMO" When you realize its just cosmetics. If the item is already made then why not? No one says anything about Male miqote's in pink thongs but I guess thats ok because its sexy, then you have a lalafel named Jail Bait in swim wear, but don't worry, its just a cosmetic item. And no offense to those with OC's based on this game. But if you do have a OC, just about every Eorzean looks about the same when it comes to their races and outfits. Only difference you notice off the bat is your outfits, hence why so many mmos have flashy outfits. Cosmetics make the character.

Also to those talking about the coat looking cheap, Script gear. Looks like shet, but your wearing it aren't you? Especially that whm outfit, and don't get me started on 180 gear in PvP. If you don't want it, fine. Saying it doesn't fit in with this game or doesn't meet some sort f standard is flat-out bs.

Oh yes, and those wings look like Angeals wings from Crisis Core. Not all of them need to look like Sephiroths. Why don't you ask for those? Though as I said, alot of you are just against wings.

Though this is exactly whats happening. People don't want others to have it because they don't like the way it looks. If its in the game, its not wasting time, its literally just carrying over availability for items. No ones offended by it, no one can't give a logical reason as to why it shouldn't be in here, they're just hating the idea of it.

There is so many things that goes against this game's aesthetic, as if there is one to begin with. Looking at Azys Lla, Dragonia, Coerthas, Thanalan, with outfits like Thavnarian stuff, Shire gear in which looks like British Coats, Poetics gear that look like a tribute to Phantasy Star, ilvl 110 PvP gear that are literally based off animals, then you have Alexander Gear that literally has no relation to anything I can think of, meaning this is the closest to an aesthetic this game has gotten close to. In otherwords, there is no set aesthetic.

PS: This game is very focused on nostalgia, and we have characters in the FF series with Wings of all types, so in that sense it'd fit right in. Also, Yokai Watch, nuff said.

And at the same time you don't get to choose what is or is not a good reason. If someone says they'd rather not see it in game for their personal preferences to lore or aesthetics, you don't get to choose that that is not good enough. They; just as you or I, pay/paid for this game and therefore also have equal share to discuss what they would/wouldn't like in the game, whatever their reasons.

Personally, I don't think they fit the aesthetics of XIV and would be potentially damaging to current lore. Maybe far in the future, but as of right now.. no, no thanks.

Its already IN the game, just not for us. And I don't see anyone crying about the Flying Adamantoise mount. We literally have wings in our wedding cut-scenes! Doesn't fit into lore? That didn't stop them before now did it? Honestly this lore excuse is being abused for something as simple as a basic cosmetic item.

And people don't get to choose what should or shouldn't be added to the game, it's fine to not like it, it's not fine to ridicule others and actively request against it disregarding other people.

While not the OF community exactly, the reddit ffxiv community seems extremely hive minded ; ; I don't post there for that very reason..if you have a different opinion and express it politely, you'll get downvoted because people hive mind and can't read what a up/down vote is for. >.> So that aspect of the XIV community is hive minded >_<

i would never put any person down by the things they like to wear. that's just petty.

I personally would never wear these gimmicky wings but if someone else loves them wants to wear them then who am I to even judge that person? If they love them then that's awesome

These are absolutely hideous and I hope we never ever get them.

Most of the Final Coil gear was bad enough for this exact reason, but at least that was fairly fitting with the game.
These look like taken right out of every korean F2P MMO ever. Please don't add them, SE
