version2 Materia "Can I Have it"?

This game lacks some sort of gear swap or way to improve abilities during battle.

Materia system they have now is more for improving armor itself.

Instead of switching armor can we switch our status in the form of special Materia.

FF7 had Materia slots and in a menu.

So bascially what im asking can we switch are status by marco by the means of switching "Orbs/Crystals" in our Materia Menu.

This isnt gear swaping but its more like item swaping.

Now with the Materia system they have now and armor they could do another revamp on it and add Holding Slot points which would let you hold extra status swaping Materia at a time.


Materia swaping wont have any display while in battle so it wouldnt blink.

Sorry, I don't quite understand much of what you are asking for. You are talking about FFXIV 2.0 when you say version 2 right? Also, from what I am understanding, you want the materia system to be revamped to where only one materia per item, but you are able to swap?

Sounds like you are making poor choices as to what materia to attach to your gear to fill your role. You should work on that. Something like your suggestion isn't needed.

While I think I see what you're saying, it still sounds like gear swapping to me without the blink animation.

I can't say that I would be for this idea.

For me, the class, the equipment, how you customize your equipment, and the abilities you arm yourself with are part of the strategy phase. Something you cannot change once going into battle.

And your abilities, positioning, and reactions in battle are the tactical phase. These you can change during battle.

This still isn't a good or interesting way to fill the design space that gear swapping and min/maxing fills in FFXI.

Gear swapping is to much of an XI mentality that doesn't need to exist in XIV lol. Why would you want a game that looks beautiful then taint it with blinking animation when changing gear.

As for materia, you have to dedicate yourself to how you want to augment your armor. If you want the chance for an armor yo have 2 different stats on it, then buy 2 body pieces and put one on each but the whole reason materia is made the way it is is show you have to actually dedicate yourself to how you wish to augment your stats.
