I WILL ONE DAY GET THAT HONEST GILLIONAIRE title. EVEN IF I MUST DO LEVES AS A COMBAT CLASS!Levequests? Who does those outside of 1-50 crafting if you're yet to unlock Ixali? The main class exp they give is terrible, you're much better just farming FATES, and even those are a slog.. For me anyway...
POTD is my BFF at this point for levelling classes I hate quickly, like tanking ones or any healer but WHM classes.
Wup, got a bit too fired up.
Actially, levequest, PotD and FATEs are all on par in terms of exp/hour. Levequests are a bit higher than FATEs (of course you should ignore escort ones) and FATEs are a bit (not tiny, but a bit) higher than PotD. You can confirm this if you just try farming each of them for 2 hours on different classes of the same level. Someone on reddit already did the math, actually.Levequests? Pls the leveling is so fast in this game you can easily do 1-60 alt in less than a week the exp buff for lv 50-60 is so huge that u need for some levels only 3runs instead of +10. Potd is a good way too so dunno why u complain

It always boggles my mind when folks complain about how long it takes to level a job in this game... I was able to level ALL of them in about the same amount of time it took to level two jobs in FFXI!
Curmudgeony discourse about "kids these days" aside, bear in mind that you're under no obligation to sit and stare at the clock while waiting for a dungeon queue. There are other things to do while waiting to enter a dungeon - and Main Scenario Quests, sidequests, and FATEs all have the benefit of granting ADDITIONAL exp while waiting for that sweet, sweet dungeon exp.
And, as was mentioned, Palace of the Dead generally has quick queues even for DPS.
No, this game does quite well in providing a variety of ways to gain experience points, and in allowing a player to level a job in a timely manner. Nothing needs to be changed.

It kind of boggles my mind that people think leveling in this game takes too long.
DPS queues aside, an FC mate was doing an experiment on an alt where he was doing MSQ + Hunting Log + Sidequests while leveling. When he hit level 30, he was right at the point where he needed to do Toto Rak. I also did a similar experiment where I focused solely on MSQ, ignoring Sidequests, FATEs, hunting log, and even Guildhests. My alt is level 26, and just completed Toto Rak. Never got level locked once for MSQ.
So there really is nothing in this game to suggest it takes too long to level jobs. Alt jobs still get huge boosts of exp from all the things mentioned above. And PotD, of course.
My main has several level 60s, and has been at end game for a while now. When I leveled DRK, between doing just dungeons (PotD wasn't out at the time), it only took me a couple of weeks to do 30-60. More recently, I decided to level my 26 rogue to 30 for ninja. Did floor 1-30 in PotD, got to 28. Ran Haukke Manor twice (not even full runs) and got to 30. Took...2-3 hours if even that. Leveling is super fast in this game, in my opinion. It's some times frustrating since I go through the trouble of getting gear for alt classes, and then it becomes useless so quickly.![]()

Just finished getting my second alt to level 50, since I kinda lost my motivation with the other in early HW and then the new tomes dropped and I found a new static and all, but it's really not that hard. The only times you run into level locks in ARR if you're a DPS is the 40-50 region, but that has always been the case. Like HyoMinPark I was level 26 for Toto-Rak, levelled up in there, did POTD when I hit level locks and somehow magically slogged my way to 50 before 4am yester... today.
It took me, let's see. Playtime's at 4 1/2 days. That alt was something else beforehand where I loafed around, so let's take about 6 hours off the playtime for loafing and doing nothing but standing around in swimwear.
4 days from 1-50. 2-4 days for ARR, and no level locks (maybe more if youre a slow reader). I did it on my other alt which I dropped in Heavensward, but I entered HW on level 52, and I notoriously did not do any roulettes due to main character burnout. That alone carries one nearly into Ravana, and the MSQ exp got me to nearly level 54. I had to yet set a foot in the Dravanian Forelands on said alt - and barely did any sidequests because of main character burnout (I caught up on all quests I didn't do before I made an alt. Don't ask).
Armoury bonus makes levelling a class up to grab a job ridiculously easy, and that stacks with the Brand-new Ring, the Friendship Circlet and food bonus.
Can't say much for HW yet other than "Hey, the dungeons don't give as abysmally little exp as they did on launch!," which already made levelling other jobs up to 60 easy, but that was with armoury bonus. Still, its a large chunk of exp nowadays compared to the light drizzle it was in early access/launch. The level 50 dungeons can be utterly curbstomped and ARE utterly curbstomped AND give exp if you don't go unsynched, which makes levelling even easier.
I'unno, it's plenty easy to level, and that's coming from a notorious sidequest-skipper who used to be always way behind level-wise because of that.

Just wait until Sam dps comes out. That 15 minutes is going to turn into an hour
Due to all the filler rubbish and pointless fetch quests that were added to give 50 gear etc (which most players have outgrown time they get it) It has put people off the story causing them to skip cutscenes or QUIT THE GAME.
SE needs to re-look at the MSQ up to Before the Dawn and separate a chunk of mandatory side quests and make them optional from the MSQ. Otherwise it is pointless adding stuff beyond 60 if they continue scaring new players off.
