    FF XIV is a very different game from FF XI. They can't just take the job and how it works in FF XI and shove it into FF XIV. If we get blue mage, it will be a single role job, limited to a specific class of armor, and all blue mages will have the same spells.

    As for Dancer or other jobs I really don't have any particular job I'm rooting for.

    Your wrong thy can do it look at drk if thy set it up like tht it can work just hve a spell think like the role abilitys u can put on the blink slots and hve a cap of spells u can put in at lvls i know thy can do it just most ppl tht hated FF11 blu set up from FF11 don't want it to be like tht because thy like stuff handed to thm i don't like stuff handed to me i want a challenge make me go out and learn the spells other thn handing the spells to me so i can become op i don't understand ppl tht love stuff handed to thm it looks lazy sorry

    Dark Knight in FF XIV has significant changes from other games in the series. Specifically, it's a straight up tank in FF XIV and lost its signature theme of sacrificing hp to deal more damage.

    So what makes you think DRK is a good example for why classic BLU would work in FF XIV with having to actually go out and learn abilities? Enemies in FF XIV don't even HAVE unique and interesting abilities for the most part anyway outside of bosses, and boss abilities don't translate well into player abilities because of the difference in game genre compared to say FF V.

    If blue mage is added to FF XIV, it will be changed. Summoner was changed. BLM to a lesser degree was changed. DRK was changed. Red Mage was changed to a pure dps with a bit of utility.

    Adding in a classic blue mage where you have to go out and see spells to learn them, or having a certain number of points or slots to allocate for spells to customize your blue mage, would be a HUGE departure from FF XIV's game design. It's not something they can just slap in there. It's not going to happen, unless they applied blue mage to some sort of isolated system like a deep dungeon or eureka, where you learn blue mage abilities but only get to keep them in that zone. If BLU is added as a regular job, it's going to be streamlined, like EVERY OTHER JOB in FFXIV. There's just no way around it. Love or hate FF XIV it is what it is.

    The closest you may get is if the lore/story of the job involves learning from monsters but not the gameplay.

    actually, something i just thought of that could be done within existing systems without revamping how levelling works in 14, egi glamour applied to their spells but learned from enemies throughout the world, perhaps with little side effects added alongside (ie blum learns 'cone aoe' type spell bad breath at lvl x, but can 'learn' a different glam for bad breath that changes the poison to petrify and now its stone breath)

    this small change would mean you could have 2 blums in a party that have their own feel and look, you dont break the standard levelling system which has a built in action limit to it, and players get to experience that worldwide hunt for new abilities to get hit by >P

    Maybe but they've gone almost an entire expansion now without updating the egi glamour system. I'd be surprised if SE had multiple spell animations in place for the same spell for BLU. I don't think smn glamours affect any spell effect animations just the egis.

    they already do have multiple animations in place, in fact theres a whole library of animations and particle effects in the game, and no the current egi glams dont affect the egi abilities but i believe everything i put forth is possible with tweaks to existing code as opposed to spending a lot of dev time and money implementing an entirely new ability/levelling system to be more like classic blum or completely ignoring the world exploration part of blum in making all blum abilities solely learned through standard job quests

    I could see abilities being learned in job quests, though considering the pattern with new jobs BLU would probably start with at least half of its spells already at level 50+.

    I doubt they're going to introduce any traditional blue magic system where you go out and learn spells though, and I doubt they're going to add a spell glamour system to have multiple versions of functionally the same song. Maybe time will prove me wrong, but while the job may have a unique mechanic or two in its gameplay with all jobs having a gauge, I wouldn't count on going out into the world to learn abilties or having anything unique about how the job functions beyond the usual job mechanics.

    I can see u hate grinding anything close to see u will dislike it but Tht's wat made blu fun even if thy can't add it like tht i'll still play it to see if its fun

    Most enemies out in the world just have generic 'get out of the orange aoe' attacks.

    More interesting attacks are generally reserved for boss fights, or on occasion dungeon mobs the one in Arboretum hard that will transform you. But in general, enemies out in the world in FF XIV lack unique and interesting abilities.

    Whether I would like a traditional blue mage or not is irrelevant here, my point isn't that I would dislike it, but that it goes against the design of this game. It wouldn't fit. Every other job goes through changes to fit into FFXIV's strict trinity system mold. If blue mage is added I have no reason to believe they would be a special case, the one job not to bit fit into a tank, healer or dps mold. THey changed Dark Knight. They changed Summoner. They changed black mage, they changed red mage, they will change blue mage if it's added.
