my house is in rebuilding stage. this house is very small and in unpopular area.
the roof, floors, plumbing, and gas are all broke.
my landlord fired the original crew. for not completing the job on time
the new crew comes in and makes all kinds of promises, and shows me pics.
now for next year i have to wait for them to finish the job.
should I move to a more popular, bigger house rent it for same price?
or stay in the part of my house that is not being rebuilt. but still pay same rent as others.
Yeah, I remember a chart of player populations for various servers for the first two months of FFXIV being distributed amongst Japanese message boards. I don't remember the exact numbers, but it went from a shallow slope to a very steep cliff after September. IIRC those numbers were pulled from the Party search, which originally actually showed you the number of people on at a given time on a server. I found it funny and depressing seeing that number drop at a near-exponential rate after the first two months. Square, having a bit too much pride and worrying about the effect this would have on PR, removed the ability to see the current number of players on. That irked me as it was basically Square's way of admitting at that time that the game was dying.
But yeah, definitely would like to know where we can get these numbers now, and a population break down per server so I can assure myself that Saronia doesn't have as low of a population as I think it does.

One way to partially check is to see how many people have registered for xivpads.

Well the XIVpads thingy doesn't really reflect anything, I joined maybe 2 months ago, while being on XIV since alpha day 1. Stats will always increase on XIVpads, regardless of who is playing and who stopped playing. You can only register and almost no one will close his account if he stops playing.
Just seeing that Germany is the 2nd country in term of popularity makes XIVpads stats completely unreliable. I really doubt that there are more DE players than UK ones.
Little by little players stops and become less active as well :s I know many linkshells who lost lot of members in the past few months. People comes back after patches, then leave again. Oh well we will see once billing will be there.

Have you even read how statistics work on FFXIVpad (btw, never heard of it before)?
"When you view the site you're logged for that day as a "Visitor", and that adds on +1, if you come back the next day it adds +1"
It's not about inactive people, it's about people who actually come back and use the site again and again.
And there has been a strong rise since January..
I haven't seen as many players online as now in ages, too.
It's not just numbers, you can really feel it ingame
Btw, it doesn't matter if there are many Germans on FFXIVpad.
Even if only German players are coming back, wouldn't that also mean a rise in player numbers?![]()

Which again doesn't mean anything? I can be active in-game and not active on pads. Like I can be active in-game and not even registered there. Not to mention that JP players most likely don't even go there.Have you even read how statistics work on FFXIVpad (btw, never heard of it before)?

More players using pads != more players active in-game. (soon we will talk about subscribers, but for now, as the game is free, all we can refer to are active players.)

I just remembered..in one of the interviews done by Yoshi-P lately,
he was talking about the "tens of thousands of players", so I guess it's safe to assume we still are below 200k,
otherwise he would have said hundred of thousands or something like that.

/sea all..... opps 2.0 maybe?
