Why so much Determination and no Crit?

What's with all the new gear? Stats are IMHO kindof sucky. Am I missing something? I lost most of my crit and ss and replaced it with Determination and/or parry/accuracy are they preparing us for something?
I am keeping some of the pieces just because I would rather have the old stats and sacrificing ilvl for the sake of IMHO better stats.
What am I missing here?

Same. I don't even want most of the tome gear because it's just nothing but Parry. I've been using HQ crafted gear instead and melding it.

reminds me of the good old 2.x days all over again. While I can't complain anymore after the 3.4 patch, but prior to that, my dps would have more accuracy than a tank and it's not even needed. I did mix and match with crafted, raids, tomes, and lower ilvl items a bit as well as having to meld the higher materia's to get close with people that are wearing the full tome stone gear. However now with this patch, I lost most of the accuracy and it's exchanged by det/crit, very happy about that, but I am pretty sure with 3.45 I'll end up with stats that are absolute useless. Please look forward to it.

I am hoping the re-tool Parry for Stormblood. It would be nice to have GOOD defensive secondary stats that are meaningful while maintaining the flavor of "Tank". I would much rather be using gear with Parry if it were useful.

And yes, new tank gear is ??? as far as itemization/stats go.

Mix of raid gear and tomestone gear, it is hard to keep my crit as high as it was in 3.2-3.3. It is just how it is sometimes. Hurts a lot on MCH.
