When is a free Hot Aoe heal not usefull O.o
When is a free Hot Aoe heal not usefull O.o
One phrase "fire and forget"
You can chuck it down to fulfill the HoT needs of the moment and switch to cleric stance and dps. You can also chuck it down on top of a separated team thus freeing yu to focus on other elements. Basically, its an ogcd medica ii that frees you gcds for other uses this increasing your actions per minute.
Forget the numbers... it looks pretty.

When your party members (or you) will be stationary enough to benefit from boosting your HoT. Nothing says you can't use it with Medica II or Regen and I often do. If I know we have a time we're all going to be in one spot, I toss it up. Why not?

A good example is when a Dragoon is targeted by Infusion and you don't have a SCH to shield. Put Asylum in before Sophia summons the scales, when you tilt forth and back into the bubble the attacks from the confused Dragoon would be healed just in time for everyone to be able to survive the ultimate.

I think it's worth mentioning its worth as a party corralling tool. Throw a bubble down and whoever's got their wits about them and is mobile enough will want to go in there. Useful for getting some strays into AoE healing range, or to help herd them in for your SCH/AST partner's shields.
Use it with a Divine Seal regen and it basically let's you fully dps in dungeons worry free while both are up.
You don't really want to cast medica II if it's not needed as it eats up mp that is better used for dps which in dungeons you should be doing 80-90% of the time.

Experts on trash pulls is usually on tanks as an added regen to enable me to Aero 3 and Holy more. Bosses are either on group or on tank depending on positioning of players (fingers crossed for melees ;D).
AS7 there is a strategy in which you can throw an Asylum within a jail and let it heal people while they fight an add. Taking this into perspective, you can essentially drop it somewhere and be out of range to heal someone as long as they're in the bubble.
A9S I use it on the Scholar & OT who placed generators. Rest is either on tank (when it's up) or on group after a stack-AoE goes out.
A10S, I basically do a majority of my AoE Healing with Asylum. It's a very useful tool.
A11S, the first use of it I have it hit both our MT and OT, while E.D.D is spawned. It really eases the amount of GCDs I actually have to spend for upfront healing (Cure, Cure 2), and lets me refresh Aeros and throw some Stone 3s out.
A12S there are sweet spots, but first phases are really reserved for tank healing. Rest are in situations that replaces a needed Medica/Medica 2 on group and lets me throw DPS once again.
A lot of the usage really depends on the positioning of the group and also in relation to how the healer is problem-solving with the amount of damage (and recovery time allotted) is going out. Keep that in mind that it costs 0 MP, and can be used for single-target healing and/or group healing. It is a very flexible ability.![]()

Regen + medica II + assylum = clerics stance + holy = awesomeness

Hi. I use Asylum differently with each dungeon or Raid. Asylum is best used in moments when several party or raid members will benefit by its use. Examples...a party or raid is comprised of more Melee than ranged and in close proximity of the foe and used about the time that the foe uses an ability that will cause HP loss.
The Weeping City of Mhach - Forgall's ability Hell Wind will drain the raid's HP. Having Asylum near Forgall will give Tanks and Melee Asylum during a time intense HP regen and replacement is needed.
A8 The Burden of the Son - Brute Justice forms and Phase 3 begins with a knockback. (I'm beginning to think that Asylum during this moment is not as useful because Brute Justice is positioned Northward. The party moves toward the center of the arena prior to the full use of Asylum.) Double Rocket Punch is an ability that is often shared by Tanks, I have yet to test this...but Asylum during Double Rocket Punch may be useful.
