I don't take offense to it at all. I just think you are missing out on great games by writing off the hardware. It's the same as the PC master race argument towards consoles with the names changed.

But, I do understand it comes down to personal taste and comfort. I just can't say FFXIV would never function on a handheld specifically, since there are far too many variables involved with ports.

It may not be the best experience in the world, but I love it that FFXIV works on the PS Vita with PS4 Remote Play. Presumably Stormblood will continue to work on the Vita/Remote Play as well. Admittedly the game is still running on the PS4, but the handheld form factor does work. Strangely enough, the Vita actually has double the RAM of the PS3, and it even supports PSN Party Chat...

One nice thing they added to FFXIV is that you can have multiple GUI setting sets, so you can make one that works well on the Vita without messing with your main PS4 settings.

I think most people are afraid that if the Switch was supported, the limitations of the hardware would hold the rest of the game back, I hope I'm proved wrong and it ends up being as powerful as the Xbox One though. I have nothing against the Switch itself, its a cool nifty console, which will hopefully be better supported than the Wii U.

It's basically a portable ps3 so, hope the don't support it.

Mobile gaming has come a long way to be more powerful then the ps3 already. Of course we don't know anything other then, switch is using a more modern Tegra chip yet.

No. It is the size of a tablet, so there is likely no active cooling solution. That fact alone gives strong hints to the type of power you're looking at. It will have to be a very low voltage processing core, in order to give it a decent battery life but more importantly to keep heat down.

I would assume, they have two modes for games with the Switch. One is the handheld mode, which provides games with lower graphics and - much - lower resolution and the tv mode runs games in 720p and 1080. To ensure the necessary power is available the clock speed will be increased when in the docking station, in my opinion, since the console doesn't have to deal with battery life in this mode.

Which is a valid fear, and we still don't know enough about the Switch to answer that.

Unlikely it might come out for Nintendo Switch, though I do love the idea of a Final Fantasy game coming out for it.
