Yoshi showed that only 1.87% of players use the 32-bit version so they decided to end support.
This allows them to get past a 2gb limit and use as much memory the system has to offer. The 32-bit version can only address 25% of the memory which the PS4 edition can address so it’s a major limitation.
As for the switch, it’s in the same league as the PS3 in terms of power so it’s not gong to happen. We would see a cellphone version before a switch version.
